The game is boring

Hi,

Been playing the beta, it's just another generic PVPVE sandbox game, but without all the bells and whistles.

The story makes no sense and is loosely related to Dune (if you care about lore), the map is fairly bland and if you're a sucker for competition, the PVP aspect is pretty much non existent, there's an area called the 'deep desert' where PVP is situated, outside of this zone it's PVE.

Base raiding is practically impossible, the only time you could base raid would be by building inside the deep desert, and that's only if they don't have upkeep/sandstorm protection, it also gets reset every week.

Most people's bases will be in the PVE zone, with maybe a small outpost to transfer supplies too and from the deep desert, so the only raids you'd be doing is on small outposts which can be shielded anyways?

One of the better aspects of the is game is obviously the graphics but the unique skill system/tree, apart from that the game is extremely bland and boring.

If this didn't have hype around the "dune" IP, this would probably be one of the worst sandbox games out there.

5/10, probably will get mixed reviews on release.

Thanks for your opinion, but we will still buy the game and enjoy it. It's better than what can come out in 2025.

Plenty of fantastic games released this year including expedition 33 and Oblivion remastered with more to come - this would be one of the worst releases this year

I mean the PVE is even more bland and boring, it's just a bland desert with some POIs. Closely resembles ubisoft level of copy-paste blandness

It is, I tried it, it's no fun and I got 0 Dune vibes ( huge fan of Dune IP, I did read books at least 30 + times )

There is so much story to tell and lore in Dune, and not having any in the beta is concerning.

The era of open world, story-less, looter shooters needs to come to an end.

I've started the beta with the desire to uninstall it asap because the character creator is bad to mediocre. But the more I've played - the more involved I became even though the overall feeling was like I'm playing Star Wars Galaxies circa 2003. Or more like - I felt interest exactly because it feels like Star Wars Galaxies circa 2003.

I didn't have an intention to buy the game before the beta but it made me interested. Once I'll see any for of free-for-all co-op quests (like the world boss kills in Diablo 4) - I'll but the game instantly Or 50-75% discount to see the story.
