Both computers were bought new in 2015. That's 10 years ago. They are still doing a fine job with everything. We never had a reason to upgrade the CPUs.
lol. I read this in Yoda's voice and it somehow made sense: I don't have fun but I'm able to run. Some would say it describes the game well.
When are you going to pay me the money you owe me?
Intel added AVX2 support in 2013, with AMD adding it in Q2 2015.
You must have bought older CPU's than these, which sucks.
A new PC with minimum specs for running this game cost less than a 100 bucks though if you really want to play the game and do not have a budget for a new high end rig.
very sad that they did this and force to update the pc.
Lovely Mama: ........ASUS 1155 P8H67 (REV 3.0)
Smart Papa: ..........Intel Core i7 2600k 3.40GHz
Beautifill sista: .......GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 960 4GB GDDR5 128-bit WindForce 2X OC (GV-N960WF2OC-4GD)
Stupid bro: .............KINGSTON HyperX (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) X2 Grey (DDR3 8Gb) +2*4Gb= 16Gb
Even if everything ends, I doubt I'll be able to afford an update for at least a year.
I'll have to change more than just the processor. The motherboard seems to only support the current one to the maximum
Yeah you have much higher prorities than getting a new PC right now. It might not even be a smart move to send you a new one as charity as that could make you a desired target for robbery. Better wait until things stabilize.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I don't have time or inclination to answer anyone, but let it be known that I'm looking for a way to add a module that emulates and advertises AVX2 support at the kernel level. I forgot to say that this is all about Linux.
Regards.
Sweet Jesus H. Christ... o.O That CPU is 14 years old and the chipset it runs on does not even sport CPUs that support AVX2. I do agree that I scratch my head why suddenly a game should NEED AVX2 instructions...then again, upgrading once every "newborn to highschool" timespan should happen...and if not, that can't be blamed on the devs.
Edit: Nevermind.. i read up on AVX2 and can understand why you want to take advantage of that.. :)
