*gasp* lisan al gaib
It makes sense to me: They took Paul Atreides character's unique Kwisatz Haderach powers and made it generic so that more than one player can play that role.
Regards.
I guess Funcom pioritizes gameplay over lore... I have the impression that fans of the books would not like the game
Jessica was teaching Paul, and it wasn't a secret nor seemed to be shocking to people. Some people clearly didn't LIKE it, but that's different.
Just because the Bene Gesserit traditionally only teach females doesn't mean males are never taught. My impression anyway. (Admittedly, I have not read Chapterhouse Dune".)
I could go on for an hour like that. Some people break the rules, shocking, I know. Get used to it.
Considering this, I have to switch my opinion that there can't be male bene geserit. So I guess it will depend how they approach the concept.
You have access to some of the Bene Gesserit skills, like Prana Bindu, Voice and Weirding Way, with separate skills for each tree. I have no issue with it, maybe with the Weirding Way, it was considered to be pretty advanced stuff for the Bene Gesserit. But I can live with it, as a hero in the game we should get some leniency in terms of access to certain lore skills.
EDIT: I haven't seen any weird stuff in beta happening, like scavengers using Bene Gesserit skills. Bene Gesserit are pretty much player thing for the most part.
This game is set in an alternate timeline, so "lore" is just irrelevant ratshit. I have been a fan of the books since they were first released, and I have no problems with this game. Other people will like or dislike the game, regardless whether they are fans or have never read a Dune book in their life before.
