Though some patches later they added server transfers and you could transfer your character with items to other servers, including Exiled Lands maps. So you could bring the OP paid DLC gear to the base game map and dominate.
Eventually they figured that server transfers were a mistake, disabled them and claimed they would re-enable them. This has not happened as of today.
They also added their ingame shop "Bazaar" which had items to buy that had different stats than the base game items, often better. Also new building sets which featured building pieces with more HP than base game pieces. Also new shapes that could be abused in base building on PvP to gain advantages.
Seems that there's also some story content in some of the DLC's as well.
Your "massive list of DLC's" for Dune is four(4) DLC's.
You just bought the game for 50 bucks and see no problem with them planning on milking you for more?
There is no BP and no in-game shop/monetization whatsoever, apart from the 4 DLCs announced.
