The PvE areas where players build, have no sense to have such wipes.
But I am curious if you kill an NPC, the loot can be taken by only one player or by everyone who participated?
Because if only one player can loot the NPC, then it could make sense to add some spawn randomness to prevent camping. Or better, let it be enough for everybody, with additional instances generated when player count is high.
So keep paying to have those shields up if you want your base in the pve zone. That's the whole point of the shielded player made structures. Kinda forces you to login in to keep the shields up. I believe this info was shared previously, somewhere.
Hagga Basin part.
I think the system might be similar to Conan Exiles, where servers reset daily around 5 AM, depending on the server's time zone, without fully wiping the progress.
A full wipe typically only occurs in cases of major server issues or during server merges. With Conan, even major content updates have not resulted in wipes for a long time. In this respect, I believe they show more consideration for the time players have invested in the game compared to other companies.
However, since this isn't Conan Exiles, it's impossible to know for certain
Now for the "Deep Desert" part.
The Deep Desert map in Dune Awakening undergoes weekly wipes through a feature called the Coriolis Storm. This storm changes the landscape of the map, creating a fresh, infinitely explorable space for players.
The Deep Desert is a huge area, and it serves as a shared PvP zone where guilds compete for massive amounts of resources and control.
In addition to the Deep Desert, the game also features areas called Eco-labs, where players can discover blueprints for buildable items and engage with a player-driven economy.
There's already been some discussion about when the Deep Desert will reset every week, although nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
I believe they mentioned that it might reset on Wednesdays, allowing scouts to explore the map on Thursdays. This would give players time to sell, prepare, and build on Fridays, before engaging in battles over the weekends and on Mondays and Tuesdays.
As far as we know, character progress will never be wiped, considering that completing the full story and maxing out a character could take up to 500 hours. The main story itself is estimated to be around 80-100 hours long.
That's all the information we have so far on the Deep Desert wipes in Dune Awakening.
* Base wipe, similar to conan exiles, will only happen due to player inactivity. For DA, if you dont have power for your base the sand storms will dmg the assets over time.
* POI reset is just them changing the topography to make certain dungeons and what not available in different weeks. The first point still apply.
This is what i understood from videos/ trailers presented so far.
The inactivity is interesting because it works differently than normal due to no base PvP, at least in Hagga.
So question is how much fuel can you put in your generators etc. And how long will the decay be where you can get away repairing on return. We are likely talking several weeks here. Maybe even with a vacation option.
