It isnt an mmo like those games. Not even close. By this logic I produced cod and called warzone an mmo you would believe that too lmfao
It's an MMO but not an MMORPG, which is what WoW and Elder Scrolls Online are. Planetside 2 is an MMO too, there are a lot of different genres under the MMO tag. The actual genre of Dune Awakening is a survival crafting sandbox, it just has some MMO features(mainly lots of players on the same server).
No. This is MMO game. Like World of Warcraft. Its King title. King category. Like Funcoms original games - Anarchy Online, Age of Conan and Secret World.
No one need clone of Ark/Conan Exiles. We need MMO games. Games that are persistentn with thousand of people per server.
Not everything has to be single player or coop, with private servers where people turn all settings on baby mode
Welp, just lost my interest in this game; I hate, HATE, playing games online with people I do not know. Most of them are douchy tools that only want to ruin things for others, and I'm not going to spend my time, invested, in a game just to have all that effort swatted by a douche online. I ran many ARK: SE & SA servers for years, which is one reason I kept playing, and supporting the game by purchasing the DLCs.
I'll certainly be waiting until they release dedicated servers before buying the game; which is a shame, as I usually buy multiple copies of games; one for myself, and one each for family. I also buy across platforms too. If I like it on PC, I usually get it on PS or Xbox to so can play from the couch or bean bag in the bedroom.
By the time the game figures it out, it will be far to too late.
Dead On Arrival aka DOA;
-no private servers
-no modding support
-console release delayed
-Optimization Issues
-Server limiting 40 max to HB (gl grping up)
-Forced PvP for end game (if u want good stuff)
-Poor game balance on items->gear->skills
-Melee does not look fluid (jank)
-Ranged looks super weak vs Melee
-Cheats already released
-Funcom won't police official servers (all is)
-Huge lack of content (if u rush, u won't last a week)
Once someone wins their server and the Deep Desert aka DD they will always be the winner and lopsided boring end game. There won't be big clan battles or the competition you're imagining. This game is not an MMO. Server architecture and linking up with guild mates will be a nightmare come release.
I think it's too many red flags. Then the most popular thing in Dune lore they got rid of which is the Fremen people of Arrakis, where this game takes place.
/change my mind
hahahahaha
This is the embodiment of Red Foremans Favorite Word.
Have you not seen the 40 players limit? This isn't a MMO..
Though, "We have social hubs with up to 100 players."...
Is that what you call a MMO?
Lol.. think they missed the massive in MMO. Had Conan servers with 100 players.
Think this will be the new Atlas/Last Oasis/Dark & Light.
Same streamers pushing it too.
