Those were MMORPG's, Dune Awakening is from a different genre of MMO's.
There is no other way to put it, your vision, approach, and execution were always lacking. If you do not allow the players to help you, this game will be dead on arrival."
--- I agree, mostly...
I'm sorry but I do not have any interest in playing with randoms in a large open survival world. It doesn't matter if PVP is forced or not.. you always have rotten apples, you always have annoying people that ruin your experience one way or the other..
Idiots jumping around.. shooting your direction.. attack the npc you attack, steal kills.. whatever they can to annoy and pull you from any kind of immersion you want to have..
Survival games, big or small, are meant for private servers (for people who want randoms but have control over it) and for groups of friends.. I play thos games with my family. Me, my wife, sister, her kid, my father.. we like it that way..
I was really hyped and hopefull for this game but THIS.. nah.. this will drop of our radar FAST!!
To all that enjoy this and like their decision: I wish you good luck and a lot of fun..
to all that were hoping for private servers, LAN servers, Solo play: I'm sorry we have to let this one go..
in short: Sad by their decision.. I want to be able to play surival games solo or with friends only from start to finish! They should have gone the route like Enshrouded, Conan etc.
Any updates on renting servers?
There is no forced PvP, you can play the entire game without ever touching PvP.
Spice you can get without PvP too via Hagga. The main PvP is deep desert big spice fields and the deep desert eco labs over unique schematics.
Plus you can always just buy the items via the exchange.
You can even contribute to the Landsraad without ever touching PvP.
We know anything about stuff like this?
I'm sorry, I just started laughing.
You want... Nudity... On a desert planet where a threat is basically,
" I will have your WATER! " ?
I don't disagree with the rest of the statements of what you said, not sure what you mean with removing freedom, flexibility, customization and creativity. I found the character editor to be very useful so, explain that.. But nudity?
coooome oooon....
Tame your libido.
So there are 2 rules for PvP.
Default, you lose Solari, some/all spice? resources. No gear lost. So if you banked your Solari, resources at base you likely lose nothing.
Non-default, this one can only apply for a week and requires whatever faction to randomly get this degree as one of the options in the Landsraad. Then full loot PvP is enabled. This one however you can just skip PvP for a week and come back next week to default rules. As it is very unlikely to happen twice in a row if even possible. I think they remove the already selected degree as an option.
Have a nice day.
It's not totally true... the true scale PvP will be avoidable (Deep Desert) , but their is some PvP wreck on the PvE map, and you will NEED to go their, for some ressource or mission...
in case of missions you have no choice to not going in the wreck... after that is a coin toss, you will encounter other player, maybe not...
Devs already stated that there is no need for shipwrecks in Hagga. You can buy the materials from NPCs.
