Plus I want to control my survival aspects to my liking. So, no Private servers is a big deal breaker for myself and many of my friends who play these games with us.
First of all, when someone from the community moderation team comes to clarify some of the issues people have and provide good, clear information to help us, the least you can do, no matter what your opinions are and how you feel about the game, is to be respectful and mindful towards them. They are only trying to clear up some facts and they are just working for a company, so it would be nice if they were treated with respect as well. Don't you have any manners at all?
And on the fact of not being able to change your settings and play how you like, most online games cannot allow that because it needs to be balanced for everyone. Everyone must be equally invested in the game. If you do not feel like you want to invest time in this game, go play something else. That still doesn't make it a bad or failing game. The vision of the game is what you make of it. I like it, I will play it, and our guild is almost full, all good and fun people. We will try to have a good time, will we have a good time? We do not know, but I am sure we will because I have faith in Funcom's ability to make a good games.
Peace..
Dangit well you will be missed, me and my 25 friends just bought the deluxe version of the game so we hope to see you in there if you change your mind, maybe they will add private servers later
That's okay! It frees up some room for other people who want to engage with others and form real friendships and conflicts. We respect both equally and, at the same time, we have fun gaming and fighting over the spice. It will be a blast!
We also have a nice setup of people on our Discord ready to go, and we are all excited to dive in. I hope we get the maximum number of members, but I think we will start with around 17-20ish. However, many people are now flocking in because of the Twitch stream, so we will be okay. And for the people who are leaving, there's always a percentage of those people, and I know there are even some in your group who will play anyway, so it will be just fine.
The time we get to enjoy this world will be worth it, at least for me, and it's my €80 well spent. Even if the game were to end up in a state of doom, the worst-case scenario, I will still get my money's worth playing the story with my friend and having a good time until the servers die off and everybody has left.
I genuinely feel happy in my gaming life right now, knowing that there's a chance a good game will be born. And in the remote chance that it fails, at least I will know that Funcom gave it a good try. But the doom and gloom will only prove true if the majority of people turn away from feeling connected with others and only want to live in their own fake communities where everything is free and there are no hardships, and are only controlled by one person. And I guess that would be you, Jason.
But the thing is, Jason, you just can't control everything. You may think that's how the world works, but it's not!
And sure, you can try to rise up with some pitchforks and try to prove your point, and sometimes you might get your way, but sometimes you won't... I am sure that Funcom, as they have already told us many times before, is working on making PVE dedicated server systems hosted by Funcom or not i do not know for sure.
But it will take a while to set up because of balancing issues, although they are looking at ways to make it work. Isn't that enough for you? Funcom is reaching out to all of their fans, pleading for some more time to make your way of playing better, and you slap it away before you've even seen the final result? That's very sad, Jason, very sad.
And in case you change your mind and want to join the people in your group who will play anyway, just try to imagine how some of the developers are working hard to create something wonderful for us to play and enjoy ourselves on so many different levels of gameplay, from solo experiences to massive battlefields. Isn't that just wonderful?
Hey, Mr. Principal, my essay is ready! Do you like it? Is it good?
I don't believe this is a reasonable request with two months till release. They haven't put development time into a single client that can run this game world. They banked the release on their meshing tech and spreading out the load across multiple servers.
I think we may get private options later on, but it may be a while.
Damn bro, what the hell was all this? Just... Log off, this can't be healthy for you
