You can choose your bodytype without assigning gender to be inclusive, how amazing right?
Male and female is sooooo 2000
*Sees pre-finished product gameplay*
"REEEE GAME LOOK BAD DO NOT BUY"
Devs fall into a catch22 with the one track minded 'gamers' in the modern market... my sympathy truly goes out to them.
If you can't fathom that the gameplay is using early-stage builds of the game then you really should refrain from watching, or atleast reacting, to them.
If they claimed that the game was in a finished state during the gameplay... THEN we have a reason to be scared but the gameplay you are speaking about specifically does not say that... they specifically say it's a work in progress and may not represent the full finished product.
Maybe, but after doing this hundreds of times we learn a few things and this game looks like trash and the PvP mechanics are not inspiring.
The PVP mechanics were only 2 weeks old at the time of that filming.
How about if it's so easy YOU go and make compelling/fun mechanics in 2 weeks. I'll wait.
Context is important and people like you refuse to acknowledge context because it destroys your flimsy narratives.
Like I said you can discount our experience, that's you're right, but I'm not changing my mind.
And that's all you're doing, you have no argument at all except "wait and see", but we've already been down this road with countless other games, with the exact same setup and they all failed.
In our opinion this one will fail as well.
Don't like that opinion then stop reading them lol
It's not discounting your experience it's proving that your opinion is based on bad faith.
You want to hate the game and are ignoring the facts of the matter to push your narrative.
hate the game all you want one person is not going to matter and MOST people on this discussion board for the game, their discord, and other sites are excited to play it.
You not liking it changes nothing... I just like proving sh*t points wrong... because that's what your entire stance is... bad faith sh*t arguments.
You have know nothing about my gaming experience and already you've dismissed it lol
We are talking about the facts, the game design and pvp mechanics are exactly what we're talking about. We've seen them before and they always fail.... always.
That is a fact, you didn't prove anything except you can't handle opinions that differ from yours, that's a skill issue HAHA!!!
What exactly fails? PVP itself fails?
Well... CoD, xDefiant, Apex Legends, Counter Strike, many other PVP exclusive games prove that PVP can and does work. So your 'fact' that PVP is a sin of a game is not only only an opinion, it is a false opinion.
These specific PVP elements? Rust, Conan Exiles, Minecraft, Once Human, Ark Survival, Day Z, V Rising, Enshrouded, and many more Survival PVP games exist and have and will continue to do well. So it being a Survival PVP game forcing it to fail is also only an opinion and once again a wrong opinion.
The game design? What? Survival game?
Look at the games above... and include Palworld, Don't Starve, Velheim, Raft, Grounded, The Forest, The Sons of The Forest.
So as with ALL of your other 'facts' the 'fact' that survival game design 'always fail' is once again... SAY IT WITH ME... NOT FACT BUT OPINION, AND AN INCORRECT ONE.
The FACTS are that some games fail, some games succeed. Some of those failures include the mechanics that you say 'always' fail, and sometimes those successes include those same mechanics.
The fact that ANY game with PVP, Survival, and/or a combination of the two have succeeded has prove that your precious 'facts' are nothing but your own biases which are... once again... merely opinions, and ones that the ACTUAL facts of the matter disprove.
So... if you have a reason that this game will 'always' fail... give it to me. I love tearing apart the worldview of entitled children.
Lol this is the epitome of 'tell me you know nothing about the franchise without telling you know nothing about the franchise'.
Let me pull out my Dune Encylopedia (Released in 1984 to coincide with the first Movie).
Still Suits - "The Fremen ‘garment. which allowed desert survival by cooling the wearer and by preventing water loss." - "An unprotected human, without access to a staggeringly large water supply, could last no more than a day on the sands" - "The less efficient versions of the suits produced in village factories by the Arrakeen peons were greatly inferior and offered no such level of protection." - "its importance can be. seen not only in the survival of the Fremen themselves, but in the death rate among Harkonnen servitors, to whom the tribes adamantly refused to sell their wares.".
Now the reason I bring up THESE specific instances are as such
Stillsuits are a FREMEN thing. Other groups did not have that.
The reason this is important? The current intro of the game where you are building your character shows you speaking with an Imperium noblewoman who tells you to 'find the fremen' and 'wake the sleeper'. meaning you are not a Fremen and the group you work with have no ties to them. Meaning you are one of the various houses, maybe Harkonnen? Maybe someone else... the fact that they reference 'sleeper' is likely a 'sleeper agent' meaning it's a group at conflict with the Fremen so certainly one of the houses of Arrakis... and likely someone that the Fremen refuse to trade with. You are also a mere prisoner she had no issue with killing... so dropping you in the furnace of Arrakis with no protection is something very plausible. There is also the reference to inferior versions of the suit. They 'worked' but were far less useful than the fremen made ones.
Later gameplays show the player wearing... guess what... a full still suit complete with cowl/mask. Not even the recent films got the cowl or mask correctly. This means that during the gameplay you build/find/etc a still suit of your own.
But sure go about your day thinking you know things about the game and franchise that you clearly don't know jack sh*t about. It's adorable that I can pull out a, granted hefty, book. Turn to an entry and prove your 'knowledge' wrong.
The gameplay I am speaking of in question (skip to 3:20 of the video for the part I am referring to, then the first few seconds of the next clip after that at around 9:35) The 9:35 shows the still suit with cowl.
