Good job on that.
And still didn't answered the question.
So what is SWG?
Edit: Ah forgot to add the mandatory "LoL" or "HAHAHA"
sorry.
But what set SWG apart from a typical PvP based MMO was the crafting.
Player driven economies aren't easy, EvE has managed for 20 years so there is hope.
1. to who are you speaking to? To some huge audience you pulled in here? :D LoL
2. That is factually not true and you are straigth up lying about things I, nor anyone ever said. To anyone who would know what this kiddo is about in this pointless thread, here is the other thread where I encountered this murican snowflake and where he is trying to make up stories from.
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1172710/discussions/0/3815159923588414255/?ctp=5
3. You still refuse to write down the answer to a simple question. And i know very well why.
4. Man you muricans are so easy to F over. But never thought it would be so easy to discredit you. Under the same thread posted above you literally said:
While look at that who was the first to insta-attack someone even after his 1st interaction here with you which was only a simple innocent question. :D
Oh and...."LOL"
p.s.: That mysterious game you still refuse to name which you at least now said it is a game, was a freaking mess of a crapfest nobody played and was re-worked several times and then trashed for a reason. So yeah very good example. But at least we know why you won't name it.
SWG was a great game and brings great memories to thousands of gamers.
I hope Dune: Awakening will take some ques from that project.
As for the OP, though... seriously, don't get your hopes up. I know the possibilities can be exciting, but this is Funcom we're talking about. Anarchy Online was ridiculously buggy and incomplete for a long time, Age of Conan was never finished and probably would have been a significantly worse controversy than 2077 had it been released today, and Secret World was extremely mediocre. Arguably Conan Exiles is their best game, but even that had major problems for quite a long time. Also maybe Hellsinger, but that game is arguably only held up by its soundtrack. It's an average shooter with not a lot going for it. Funcom is notorious for holding great IP's and making middling games, and I would argue they only care about what the product sells, not whether or not it's actually good. They are a business, not a game developer.
Thanks for chiming in and I totally agree.
I'm going mostly on faith, I played Anarchy online and yeah it was really buggy. But I've watched (not played) Conan get better and better. There's a couple people on the official Dune Awakening discord that play Conan and they swear by it.
So I'm just hoping Funcom has learned from the past mistakes and uses what they've done with Conan as their base for Dune Awakening. Which makes sense because Awakening is going to be a survival PvP as well, so they've got a solid base to start with.
When I read that part about player crafters I couldn't help but think of SWG and the difference between a good crafter and a really great crafter was huge. I loved that armor I got it was worth spending a week chasing him down then waiting for his reply.
I just want that magic back!
Still, considering how it started out, I wouldn't be surprised if Dune suffers from serious problems at launch, too.
Yes I like this idea and it makes sense because they're planning a player driven economy.
Since stillsuits are going to be a major part of daily life on Arrakis, it makes sense players will be crafting\repairing\upgrading them.
Edit: To put that into perspective. One of Pauls ancestors was a genocidal megalomaniacal cybermech the size of Godzilla that solo'd planets.
