well, going by how absurdly they are milking conan i'd say it's not that far away in case dune flops which i can only hope for since i doubt they'll learn their lesson otherwise.
can you blame me when i bought conan exiles, all dlc shortly after, more than 70€ overall and a year later they twist a supposedly finished game into an unplayable depiction of pure incompetence, lack of direction and greed?
i mean it would've been one thing if they left players the chance to go back to a version before all that, but nope, they put some serious effort into forcing all that unbalanced garbage on everyone wether someone liked it or not.
However, the game will offer a storyline you'll be able to follow and complete on your own that will reveal why you're meant to be on Arrakis.
If you don't want to team up with others, you'll be able to play on your own if you so desire. But you'll need to connect to one of the available servers to play as this is an online MMO.
I wonder how much and how far you can get by doing that. I can only think all the good stuff will be locked in the PvP areas. Can only wait and see what happens and how this will be done.
I like doing things on my own and also teaming up with people randomly and doing things when i'm in the mood but I don't care for big guilds anymore which the Dune world has I know.
All depends how it's done but from some of the newer PvP online games I found it was " Start from location... run a long way and die - rinse and repeat " which was very tiresome and didn't last long for myself. And even since Battlefield 1 back in the day there has always been cheaters with aim bots that make the game unjoyable.
but the bugs, nonexistent balance (or them simply destroying it with every new patch that comes), overall clunkiness paired with mediocre at best mechanics and littered with cashgrabs via predatory pseudo currency and battlepasses will more than likely be your worst enemy...
at least that's the sad story of conan exiles...
and since they didn't bother there i doubt they'll bother here either...
Thanks for clarifying that.
I'm not really into renting games. I already have a huge pile of dead "always online" games that became bricked by server issues.
I remember when funcom were creative, and made some unique games like zanzarah (pokemon, but fairys in a fps shooting arena as encounters) and the last journey series (first game was nicest though) Also they made anarchy online, though im not sure this will be a replacement for that since it is unique, and it was made in such a way you could join a "neutral" side without picking pvp faction, then just go out explore after the tutorial
failcom obviously won't change their F-ed in the head plans, just like they didn't give a flying
just let the incompetents fail once again and hopefully the'll finally be kicking that financial bucket, only way those fools would ever learn a tiny bit...
