Dead game? Don't think so. The Arena is indeed a bit deadish though (with development on it being stopped and all), but other than that it seems to be doing fine. And the players can be childish at times (and often they literally are children), but I've seen worse. The game's community does seem to be in a sort of stasis right now though, with the community waiting and waiting for certain large gameplay additions (such as new regions), and the developers not really pushing very large updates as of late (being mostly QoL, events and smallish things like the treasure burying system which most don't use).

it is a terrible game with lazy and incompetent devs who havent fixed terrible black screening locations or hit reg issues for 4 years now.
not even 50% of the player base clicked set sail according to the microsoft achievements list.

If it were any different there would be too much PvP and not enough space to do any PvE. This game is PvPvE, and that means that there needs to be space for players to do PvE in relative peace, while at the same time people looking for PvP should be able to check the usual hotspots and encounter a decent flow of players. Me and my crew (and the devs, according to their own words), think it is good as it is.
