2026 Edition? Returning Player

Hey all, me and the kids are trying to find something to play we can do together, and saw there was a 2026 Revised Edition. Is there somewhere that points me to how it's different?

It's basically a live service game which usually means they they update the game over time, and everyone has the same game whether they bought it today or when it came out. Unlike other games live services games, sea of thieves decides to put the current year after the game name purely for marketing because "2026 edition" sounds snazzier.

Those who bought the game in 2026 will be sailing in the same servers (high seas) as those who bought the game in 2018.

If playing with ur kids, stick with Safer Seas first. Start with the tutorial tasks. Enjoy the tall tales. The toughest challenges in this mode will be the ghost ship fleet, skeleton fleet, megaladon hunts, and kraken. These will test your naval & teamwork abilities - one of the unique PvE aspects of this game.

What? Already?! Pretty sure my first encounters with kraken/skelly gally resulted in my ship sinking. You all seem to have good coordination.

How about the ghost fleet? Green tornado. Many many ghost ships. It should be available as an Order of Souls voyage for a Ghost Ship battle.

We've steered clear of all the clouds and tornados mostly bc we have no idea what they are or what to do. We picked up 5 maps and while doing the maps the things above I mentioned happened. It was crazy.
