Why are so many Pvp'ers toxic.
If you have to hide behind 'I’m a pirate, pirates are untrustworthy' as an excuse, that feels like a cop-out. If you need a video game to justify being toxic, then you're just an anchor dragging everyone else down.

you can be friendly and still PvP :er_heart:

EDIT:

I’m not going to respond to every single comment, but let me clarify: chasing someone isn’t toxic. Engaging in PvP when the other team doesn’t want to fight isn’t toxic either. What is toxic is how you act and what you say during or after.

Happy sailing, everyone!

If you talking about the trash talk, that's probably a way to cope with whatever is going on in their lifes and want to share their frustration.

Well there is friendly trash talk and hateful trash talk.

People who avoid PvP and tend to lose encounters often think PvPers are toxic because they're only experiencing half the game. People who seek out PvP and get better at it pretty quickly realize that for every toxic encounter with aggressive PvPers, there's 3-4 toxic encounters with players who think saying "We don't want to fight" means you aren't allowed to attack them.

This game literally rewards toxicity

what are they doing that's 'toxic'

I saw the word "untrustworthy". I guess you were betrayed. That's not toxicity. I do not prefer this style of getting loot but it's a pirate game after all. When someone betrays you they are not toxic. They are spineless scurvy dogs but not toxic. Trusting is your choice. You can always destroy everyone on sight and have all the loot for yourself :) .

If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Maybe Minecraft is a little more your speed.

I've betrayed lots of ships and I've been betrayed by lots of ships. I've had a great time.

Maybe it's not the game, but your expectations of it.

Also, GIT GUD SCRUB.

Funny how 1-2 people here replied with something actually useful, constructive feedback, the rest just literally made the posters point. Being nasty and maliciously toxic for no reason.

Toxicity needs to hurry up and die out of video gaming. It's boring.

There is not much to be said about this topic that can be useful to anyone.

Toxicity exist mostly because the receiving end takes it this way. For the person being mean to others it's just "fun" or a "joke".

The moment the target decides to stop being a victim and realize that's a problem of the other person then that's when the "toxic players" has no power over other's emotions and they free to just move on from the drama without caring which usually ruins the aggressor's fun immediately.

Imagine that. Personal accountability.

Who'da thunk? Just ignore it and it'll go away.

Stop making yourself a victim and wearing complacency like a shirt. Move on, scrub.

Honestly, these are probably the same guys that'll random kill in chill servers on TF2 because "it's a shooter game, play."

I mean it's usually the target's fault.

In this game i seen many things being called toxic including tucking for some reason. Every minor inconvenience created by enemy players is toxicity one way or another.
The times i get randomly insulted and such i play it cool and don't care about their insults and they eventually just laugh it off and stop acting like that. There are a few that are very hateful that will keep going at it but it doesn't affects me, it's their problem if they go in their life wich such hate not mine.

I decided not to be someone else's dumpster and i won't let it affect me so to me they just venting.
There is also the block function if you can't handle it tho.
