i need help getting a curse

basically i heard that you can get the sunken sorrows curse without having to find all the journals as long as you can find someone that has done the voyage and do it with them, is there anyone out there that is able to confirm and help me out with this?

Yes it works, i speedrunned a friend's curse he didn't even read a lore book and it still counts as long as they open the chest.
