Green Screen Crashing

Pretty much since I got my amd gpu after switching from nvidia last January in graphics-intensive games my pc has been regularly crashing with a completely green screen, nothing on it. It has occurred on other games (eg no mans sky, ark survival ascended and helldivers 2) but sot is what I'm playing now so that's why I'm posting it here. I got a new psu recently and that seemed to fix the issue, shortly after my pc straight up stopped working because my C drive got completely corrupted - probably due to lots of crashing. It seemse to occur on amd gpus so I am considering switching back to nvidia, but thats not ideal as gpus arent cheap.

My specs:
- rx5700xt GPU
- ryzen 5 5500 CPU
- rm850x PSU
- cosair vengance LPX 2x8GB RAM
- a520m ds3h mATX mobo
- all the named games are installed on a crucial x9 1TB ssd
