118gb download for this?

I'm sorry but this game does not have the right to be this big of a download for what's in it. Red dead redemption 2 is like 120gb, heck BG3 is only 143gb and that's a legit masterpiece, but that makes sense with the level of quality, detail, and overall content in the games. This sorry excuse for a graphical nightmare (except the water) does not, everything about this game is clunky and unpolished feeling (except the water and music) combat alone is a mess of a joke. my friends are the only reason i even play this game anymore (except the water and music), if they didn't play and ask me to all the time I'd honestly uninstall to save that monumental game space.

Jokes aside, I understand your frustration. I got this at the end of 2020 and it was a little over 50GB
At some point over the subsequent years the file size doubled and I have no idea what the hell happened
I know Tall Tales bloat the size but still, wtf

Yeah i get the look of hypocrisy with that there, but my personal opinion doesn't change what it is, or how it's received in the public eye so I don't see a point denying it's obvious success. However, I don't like lying about how a game feels to play to me based on others opinions. The pathing, hit-boxes, sight lines, bugs, and a few other things have made me quit playing bg3 for a while, it is a great game sure but it has a lot of problems in my opinion and i won't act like they aren't a big issue for me.

Since 2020, 70% of today's modern games are 100GB, you don't have to play, but if that's the size of a game, there's nothing you can do about it.
100GB is now a normal size for a game, don't be surprised. You can also be sure that Sea of Thieves optimizes and compresses the assets really well. There is a lot of content in the game, maybe you haven't experienced it yet or don't know about it.

no i've been playing since launch and maxed out most of if not all the merchant companies, and did most of the tall tales so it's not a lack of experience or knowing. Sorry but I just don't see the need for this much of a download for this little of QUALITY, and content when there are much more polished and expansive games out there at the same storage size. This tells me that their game is either not properly compressing or managing the assets to take up that much space, or that their content in game is enough but it's simply so boring, jank, or forgettable enough that I feel like a lot of people would agree, it's not worth the size it takes up.
