Xbox Game Bar Fails to Recognize Sea of Thieves as a Game for Recording
Summary of the Issue:

Problem: The Xbox Game Bar doesn’t save the "Enable game features for this app" setting in Sea of Thieves, preventing the "Record last minute" feature from working.

Behavior:
The "Enable game features" option resets every time the Game Bar is reopened.

When trying to use the "Record last minute" feature (Win + Alt + G), the Game Bar freezes momentarily, then opens settings prompting to enable game features. After enabling, the setting doesn’t save, and the feature doesn’t work.

Other Games: The Xbox Game Bar works perfectly fine with other games, such as Cyberpunk 2077, as well as non-gaming apps like web browsers (Opera, Chrome).

Steps Taken So Far:
General Troubleshooting:

Enabled and disabled Background Recording in Xbox Game Bar settings multiple times.
Verified that the "Remember this is a game" option is checked.

Tested the "Record last minute" feature with multiple games to confirm that it works on other applications but not in Sea of Thieves.

Xbox Game Bar Reinstallation:

Uninstalled Xbox Game Bar using PowerShell.

Reinstalled Xbox Game Bar from the Microsoft Store.

Verified that the app functions properly in other games, but the issue persists in Sea of Thieves.

Registry Edits:

Added a registry key to manually enable Game DVR features for Sea of Thieves:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore\Children\Microsoft.SeaofThieves_8wekyb3d8bbwe

Added DWORD values:

BackgroundCaptureEnabled = 1

IsGame = 1

Restarted the PC, but the issue persisted.

GameDVR Folder Reset:

Deleted all files in the following folder to reset Game DVR configurations:

%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\GameDVR

Recreated necessary files like GameConfigStore.ini and replaced KnownGameList.bin.

Tested again, but the issue remained unresolved.

Verified game performance, ensuring there are no issues with the game itself (e.g., lag, crashes).

Confirmed the game runs smoothly with stable performance in other contexts.

System & Permissions:

Verified there are no permission conflicts:

Xbox Game Bar saves settings and works correctly with other games and apps.

Both Sea of Thieves and Xbox Game Bar were tested running as Administrator.

Ensured Gaming Services and required background services (e.g., Xbox Live Auth Manager) are running and set to Automatic.

Verified the system has sufficient performance to record gameplay (e.g., runs high-end games like Cyberpunk 2077 without issues).

Additional Tests:

Tested after disabling overlays from other apps (e.g., Discord, Steam, NVIDIA).

Tested with default settings by resetting Xbox Game Bar, Sea of Thieves, and related files.

System: i7 12700k and 4070 Ti with 32GB Ram.

Game bar still doesn't recognise Sea of Thieves as a game for recording, manual recording works but record the last minute button is greyed out and "Enable game features" doesn't work. Any help appreciated.
