Was planning to buy the game for christmas, is it worth it still?

I've seen people say that they lost all progress in the game, hackers and the devs not caring. The game seems fun and I want to buy it but I want to have fun.

old players roll new ones, thats what gonna happen to you many times, before you learn to play;
cringe hot mics, trying to be funny;
exploiter or cheater with soundpad glitched underneath the fort, you will meet a lot of them;
streamers privilege over normal players, you have no voice in this game if you don't have partnership with Rare or have a lot of viewers. So that you understand if you killed a named streamer or used hot mics to them you gonna get banned quickly, because they have direct communication to Rare employees;

server ping spikes;
Other 10% includes: long black screens, boring tall tales and quests which just as 'sail from A to B/move it from A to B', more lags and trolls, recycled game events.
"The game seems fun" it's just because it is being well advertised, explore some more about this game, before you spend money on it.

depends what you like, its a friends/ group game and very much a made for xbox ecosystem, its a party game. personally the problem with this game is how people can grief and just screw you over and the devs dont care

SoT is one of the only games out there where people act like losing to more experienced players is some massive unforseeable negative part of the game instead of something that any intelligent person would expect to happen when first trying a game that has been out for more than a week.
