For maxing the reputation you can get the Killer Whale shipset. Themed after Merrick's ship.

Edit: The figurehead unlocks at 50, but you unlock the set as you go up in ranks.

Look for sunken ships, they have tons of meat and you don't need to all day fishing. I save my doubloons for cosmetics.

some items cost over 4k. Especially past season items. I burned through most of mine quick. Meanwhile I can level up hunter's call for free just by checking barrels.
