Heartbreaking Player Count

I love this game, been playing from almost the beginning but took a break recently. just came back and looked at the player count and it seems to be an all time low. my question is what happened? was there an update that people really didnt like? did another pirate game come out and steal players?

Terrible performance issues, Twitch streamers being able to straight up get players banned for playing the game as it's meant to, and other poor decisions tend to betray any trust a playerbase has.

I don't see them doing anything actually wrong. Sure the streaming/tryharding is a little funny.. but to me it just looks like they are playing normally

This is not TDM :) He is killing random new players on island who tried to to FOTD. Bucketing and hot-miking which is bannable act of toxicity. As clip starts I assume previously he was killing them on their boat, but not for long which is also bannable as definition as "camping"

They playing as new, only one of them looks kinda experienced, the one who wear ghost curse. And what the actual rule "DONT do FOTD's when youre new" specified in ToS?

What exactly they said? For 15 minutes of video no one of them said a single word and why the hell you think fat guy from twitch can "teach" someone manners in game this way? Reports exists for such kind of things as "saying slurs" he should make a report to Rare, not acting like an ass :)

they could be pretending to be new, i've done it before. i never mentioned it as a rule, just a guideline, new players shouldnt be doing the super advanced high risk, they can but shouldnt be complaining/crying when other players appear. i never said they 'legit' said slurs, i was saying they might have, but seeing as we dont have what happened 15 MINUTES PRIVOR both sides are still true/false claims. for 15 minutes, a possible toxic 'new' player was humiliated on the seas, i'd say very effective way, reports is more like telling the toxics 'please dont do that again, thats naughty'. all i see is the non streamers side

That's not true, they will be temporary or permanently banned based on their previous behavior. When since players allowed to bully other players in "teaching" measure?
