Nah, SoT is still the only one that fills the niche
Atlas could've been that full package. Maybe even more. Only if the company behind it and their publishers weren't such a useless scamming trash. Absolutely wasted potential. Could've been at least in the same league as SoT and AC Black Flag, if not better.
People complain about SoT's crashes, bugs, exploits, and bad dev decisions. Looks like none of them spent enough time in Atlas. Had all of that, x10. Oh... and on top of that seasonal wipes xD
PS. I just hope that Ubisoft will finally make that AC Black Flag remake/remaster now that they flopped with Skull & Bones, and I'll be happy enough.
Salt 2: Shores of Gold - Early Access
Pure exploration. No ship combat. No anchor - just stop with the sails; no ship damage.
You have procedurally generated island in an infinite expanding map. At some time you also got to see most stuff but idk it is pretty chill in my opinion. Iam at around 30 hours and still got stuff to do like some achievements, open quests from guilds and level up to 50.
Just loot some stuff, do some quests, a few easy puzzles, a bit of ground combat against skellis and human pirates and a few other.
A small talent and an easy craft system.
You can decorate the ship - better than in SoT i would say.
Captain Bones : A Pirate's Journey - Early Access
Haven't played this one but looks like a small promising title.
Sail Forth:
Here there is no ground combat or walking at all. But you have ship combat.
Tbh i really long for a cool Coop/Singleplayer Pirate game with lots of PVE content. Ship and Ground combat.
