Not worth the download. Why's this game so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ huge anyway

If you take time to learn solo play then it's good. If you expect solo play to be the same as full crew, or even duo, then you'll have a rough time. It's also a big download because you're forced to download 4k textures and stuff even if you can't use them.

Recently, I reinstalled the game to claim the free bucket skin from the Halloween event.

And then played for a bit. First, in Safer Seas to warm up. Then, High Seas open crew.

In one session, I was randomly locked up in the brig after pledging ourselves to the Burning Blade. So I told my open crew to keep working hard to get me gold while I sleep in the brig. My slaves did good. 250k free gold. They were not too smart though. They scuttled the burning blade instead of selling treasures at the hideout before turning it in.

Had another open crew session where my captain liked doing gold hoarder ashen vaults. We stacked 3 vaults. Thankfully, it was a quiet and peaceful session. No villainous pirates encountered.

Had one session where we allied with a Saudi full crew galleon. They were evil at first - sunk us at our 1st encounter. Then, they allied with a sloop. When they met us the 2nd time, they also allied with us. They did the glitterbeard thing. My Russian open crew had to go. So I invited the galleon's Saudi friends into my crew. I also gave up my spot to their friends since I've unlocked it already.

Managed to reach captain/master tier for Gold Hoarders and Reaper's bones emissary ledger monthly rewards.

Then I had sessions where I lost after meeting evil pirates. Was holding onto the burning blade with 3 rituals when a brigantine with relentlessly pursued us. Lost it after a long battle. And then played two sessions of Order of Souls - doing raid voyages. Both times, I lose when it was time for the last PvE ship. No peace even with the Ashen Ghost ship voyage. End up in 2v1 (solo sloop vs. duo sloop) and 2v4 (duo open crew sloop vs. full crew vc-enabled galleon).

I'm still feeling sore from losing.

I've been hopping ships by setting sail and leaving a couple of times. No luck in joining a good random open crew.

Now, I'll wait till my old friends are available before I try raid voyages again.
