I suddenly don't have any game audio, please help

I launched the game one day, and noticed that the starting screen, main menu and game itself all lack any kind of audio. No SFX no music no anything. I don't know what to do, I've looked online for help and tried a few different suggestions, and none of them have worked, anyone have any ideas?

are you using bluetooth earbuds by chance? I use to lose audio with mine when starting the game and it was a telemetry option needing to be disabled on them

I am indeed using bluetooth headphones

It can't be because of your headphones if your monitor speakers weren't playing sounds either

Okay I see you have tried different audio default devices and I see you are using a bluetooth device. But you have confirmed you are not getting audio out of bluetooth. Are you getting audio from your pc speakers? or anything with a aux cable? make sure when you plug it in that it switches to that device since it might not change to that device.

If not sure how click on your window key, button and search control panel and go to your hardware & sounds and obviously go to sound. Mainly looking at the playback tab. Right click and set a default whatever you are using. You should be good after that if not make sure your game is making noise and look for what is moving sounds bar in playback tab in sounds settings. Disable it

If its bluetooth only for sea of thieves it will make a new audio source for some reason and youll have to disable it or youll never get audio from that device you have to do it with sea of thives open, if not sure what one it is just make sure you game should be making noise and look for the one moving the sound bar in the playback tab and disable it most likely after that it will auto switch to your current bluetooth device. If not you may have to set it as default. If you are using apple bluetooth for first time make sure hand free AG audio is also disabled.

I hope this helps I just started playing this game like a week ago and couldn't figure out my bluetooth audio till yesterday

You can also check your volume mixer by right clicking the volume icon on the bottom right in windows, maybe it's turned down from there (the game needs to be open)

The game is not turned down in the games settings, the game is not muted in the mixer, and I have tested the game audio through my monitor speakers. Unfortunately I didn't hear the audio through my monitor and I still don't have any audio now. As for my hardware I am using a HyperX Cloud Core Wireless Headset, connected via BT

I am not getting audio from my speakers, but I will try what you suggested

Oh thats not good. If its only sea of thieves to and everything else works normal none of that will work. That is odd,
check audio device drivers in device manger.
Maybe also your SFX drivers for your speakers check the software if it has any same for your bluetooth headset.
Check for window updates sorry I had too.

Last thing you can do is in windows search area look up sound mixer options and you could try resetting your audio to default settings its a option at the bottom. IMO last resort especially if you have a lot of stuff setup already but if you mostly just plug and play you probably wont notice a difference lol. Might just have to disable some stuff again and should be good. If none of that works I would reach out to Rare. Especially if all your audio works when the game is closed

Alright, so I have managed to get my audio back! Turns out in the inputs and output settings, SoT removed its output on its own. When I checked it the first time it didn't say or show that it did, but apparently it did. I apologize for the troubles, I appreciate y'all's efforts! :)
