Can't buy animal crates anymore?

I go to merchant shop but can't find any to buy

Have you picked up any merchant quests to deliver animals? Cause I'm pretty sure they're only available to collect from the merchant when you've activated an animal delivery merchant quest (by placing the quest down on the table in your ship). Once you've activated a merchant animal delivery quest, you don't have to go to the merchant store to get the crates, you just interact with the merchant vendor themself, and it automatically gives you all the crates you need for the quest when you collect them from the merchant vendor.

I don't know when you last played; When I last played missions were available directly from vendors; Now you have to go to the Quest Table on your ship - only after accepting a quest do you now get the option to buy crates from the Merchant.

Last time I played was the POTC additions

Click to begin a merchant voyage to capture animals. The islands that you need to go to should provide the required crates. See S11 notes:

Merchant Contract Improvements

Contracts to recover specific animals now show players which island they need to head to in order to fulfil the contract.

Crews now recover the required Animal Crates from the beaches on the contracted island.

All requested animals are now guaranteed to be found on the contracted island, including the various rarities.

Crews will no longer trigger emergent skeleton encounters on their contracted island, to reduce scenarios where animals are caught in the crossfire.
