Why should 9 stories be done 5 times? It's really ridiculous.
There is no need for so much suffering for the Golden Curse. If you think that the stories will be remembered by designing it this way, you are wrong. A system that poisons the story part of the game. It's nice for exploration and adventure, but why 5 times just for a ridiculous curse?

probably just so it's less common, you'll only get the people that really want it and completionists actually spending the time on it.

On the bright side, Seabound Soul and Heart of Fire only need to be done 3 times each for all the commendations, and they did away with those requirements for the Pirate's Life & Monkey Island Tall Tales

Only the most dedicated pirates such as myself have worked to earn this reward. It is not mean't to be earned easily by swabbies.

May I ask how this is done? TIA

before ending the quest you get a checkpoint. One of your friends has to still have the quest active and logout thus they "save" the checkpoint in their game.
end the quest yourself, get your buddy back in and restart from the last checkpoint.

Yeah, I've always felt that this is excessive. Considering there's so many tall tales, including the monkey island ones now too, it would be nice to be able to just tick off all the objectives in one run. Annoying having to come back to it again 3-5 times, because it adds up to a huge number overall, with all the tall tales.
