EAC detected to local file integrity violation

Just purchased the game on steam. I had been playing on the GamePass version for years. I can load into the game but after about 5min of being in a world, I get an error message about EAC File Integrity and my game shuts down. I looked online and could not seem to get a solution.

Been like that over here since yesterday I have 500 hours and this now became a problem I have I've tried a fresh install, checked the files through steam hundreds of time and still same issue. I put in a support ticket to rare.

I'm getting the exact same issue. A couple of other threads said to run a computer scan so I did that, I launched it again, then 5 mins later it shut down with the same error again.
EAC is clearly flagging some file incorrectly. I played this a day before the new season started and it was fine.

I had the same issue right after I installed the game. I ran a full scan of the game files on steam and after that the game wouldn't even launch because EAC was missing. Had to manually install EAC from the game's folder and all good. What a shame on developers that you buy a game and can't even launch it with a completely fresh installation.

Been getting EAC error since 25th pre-season update, Completely wiped pc started the game with nothing but SoT on SSD and still got the error in few minutes. Verifying integrity of files in steam works for a bit until it just randomly turns of the game with no chance of reconnecting. Traded 4 emails with rare support and nothing helped. Not fun :)

I just reinstalled sea of thieves after years of not playing and i get this crash message after about 5 to 10 minutes in game.

" EAC detected local file integrity violation: Unknown file version (Athena\Content\\Paks\Core_3d8387d1-49d6-4a3a-845b-7666b81500b-WindowClient_P62.pak). Application shutting down. "

I've tried every suggested solution, some of them twice,
is this something we are all dealing with?

Resolved ! I just did a file integrity check with steam and it detected one corrupted file. Now it works like a charm !

When I installed EAC in March I got an alert, then in April I got banned with redbeard. No tests, no technical reports and only automatic responses. They won't return the money either. Be careful with your money, especially if like me you don't use cheats.
Apparently this company doesn't understand what it means to reach out and implement EAC. After those alerts accumulate, you never used cheats and they ban you.

Got same problem but sometimes it turns of before start the game. I see only EAC starting window, then it get closed and game is stopping. Try to reinstall EAC cant be perormed due to problem with installer. It didnt start. Rare support send 2 messages with sollutions but nothing helped. They told me that i must wait for solution and check they social media for info

POSSIBLE FIX: i had the same issue. i found the exact file it referenced in the error and deleted it. have been playing for a couple hours now and no crash. hope this helps.
