Game doesnt launch on steamdeck

Verified game files and made past black screen after 15 minutes of waiting. I think the game is fine but they have a problem with their servers.

i bought it yesterday and it worked fine but now i can't get past the start screen. I tried to reinstall it, use a different proton version, running in desktop mode - but nothing helps

SoT is being slower after a recent update pushed via Steam, maybe?
I wonder if it's EAC acting up again...
Not the multi-GB update for S12 it was a couple hundred MB, today.
Athena64.exe takes ages to launch from Steam.
Then when launches finally, Start Game -> Freezing occasionally when loading, then Lavenderbeard and Cyanbeard.
Have rechecked game files in-game and via Steam client.
Have logged out of XBOX, was logged in on re-launch, then Lavenderbeard again.
Freezing / not at all responsive enough when returns to menu.
