Cant hear people in my crew with VC

I'm able to hear other crews online but not those in my group, UNLESS they are speaking through the megaphone BACKWARDS. Only this specific combo allows for me to hear my crew members in game. Anyone have this issue/ know a fix?

I used to have a similar issue except VC wasn't working at all for me (also couldn't hear others). turns out it was my Firewall

Honestly, no. It just randomly fixed its self and now it works as you would expect. HOWEVER my friends game suddenly broke even more and now cant hear anyone, crew or not. Before he could hear others but not crew.

I am having the same issue. It works sometimes, but not the majority of the time. I have no idea, and it is very frustrating. Any ideas?

the only thing I can suggest is turning on the Voice to text transcriber so that if someone is speaking, it'll type it out for you so you can still communicate with people.

I tried doing this but unfortunately the Speech-to-text doesn't really work too well. You'll get "Rice the mail!" instead of "Raise the Sail!"

I noticed that the in-game voice doesn't work if your friend is on Playstation 5 and are talking over Discord while playing. Only when stopping the Discord call the mic was working in-game. I don't know if this is the same issue with Xbox, but on PC this is not a problem.

Been having the same issue. I raised a support ticket on the sea of thieves website but of course they just assume it’s a hardware issue.

So, recently I had another crew begin blasting my ship, which is fine. Anyway, I could hear them, and they could hear me. It was exciting. We actually became friends while we began talking with each other. And then I joined their guild. A few minutes later I joined their game, but I could NOT hear the same person/people. WHAT THE HECK! I checked my settings, including all of the "fixes" posted for Windows/Steam/PC players. Everything looks great, but I still cannot hear MY OWN CREW! ANY IDEAS AT THIS POINT???? And, yes, I am yelling at my screen. :)

I have the same issue. I can hear and speak to other crews. I can speak to my crewmates and they hear me. but I can’t hear my crewmates. Hardware and settings are all correct.

I wish I could give a solution but it seems to just decide when it wants to work.

I have had this issue for the longest time but there is a setting that somehow fixed it for me & for my friend who plays through the XBox App (+ his kids that play it on console).

Try changing "Enable Spatial Sound" to Off.

I can't understand what this is for normally but the only difference it has showed me is being able to hear my crew after it's set to OFF.
