Underwhelming loot
I was excited to get back because i heard they were making smaller sessions more rewarding. I did a phantom fort for athena. Got a teeny tiny bit of rep and barely 7k gold. Whatever its free athena loot.

Alright lets try Gold hoarders skelly fort. I was solo, i ended up getting ambushed by a grade 5 duo reapers. Didnt see until they already detonated a keg. Anyway i managed to save my ship and defeat them. This whole thing took over 40 minutes. Alright now I go to finish the fort and I legit receive like 5 items barely worth 25k gold.

I remember i used to go to discord and find people to help me collect the loot. It was a pain to do it all solo, especially before harpoon change. Now to think skelly fort gives only a handful of items. Very disappointing

Just made a post saying the same thing. Its laughable how little loot you get for completing things now. I did an ashen winds and a sea fort and got 5 pieces in each event. It’s ridiculous.

yeah I just did a shrine and only got 7 items (and no money when I sold it all to add insult to injury), it was kind of disappointing.

Well, you know. Pirates make so little money in Safer Seas, just wanted it to feel fair for everyone by making the gap smaller between it and High Seas.

Nobody is happy, so it's a compromise! :satan:

just did a sea fort, two sailor's chests, and two cradle's of virtue.... maybe 2k. guess it didn't take long but... that's not super great.

Its pretty crazy how they messed it up so badly. One of the devs talked about how he worked on a loot spreadsheet for month but apparently he failed at his only job.

You would expect a new season that has 0 new content to at least have good balancing but nope, now there is even less reason to play since the grind is longer and the loot is worthless.

What happened in the new update that made these all so bad?

Seems they wanted a bit more quality over quantity, but in a game involving stealing, quantity is important to help take up time (opening opportunities to be attacked or stolen from) and also help prevent situations where you lose a large portion of loot when distracted. There will always be valuable bits that will get targeted, but walking out of an event with only 4 or 5 items instead of 8-12 worth loading up? Seems shallow.

Does quantity not scale with # of crew? Even if it does, a solo/duo should be able to run the risk for a full payday if they can pull it off unnoticed. If big crews have more loot, sailing solo on high seas anywhere near events is going to be very hazardous.

I only have about 330 (Maybe 3-4 months) hours in-game. So not sure how far back the good 'ol days are.

But 25k for a ghost fort seems about right. Do it during gold rush and you get a bonus 1.5x.

We have neither quality nor quantity now. The loot should also not scale with the amount of players as it makes no sense.

No one knows. Everything pays horrendously and gives you scraps. It’s ridiculous how much they ruined the game

This should probably be marked as the correct answer to this thread OP.

It's best to come to terms, and move on.
