Will safer seas ever be less punishing to play?
I get you want people to play pvp, but there are those of that can't like myself.
Im autistic and deal with seviere anxiety and other medical stuff, why does it have to be so restricting when i bought the game and just to have fun and enjoy a cool pirate game. I just dont understand why you have to be so extreme with reducing gold and experiences and features we share because we cant play pvp. what we do playing dont affect any pvp players so why do i feel like im being forced to play it.

I understand i cant have because its big player thingg like
  • Guilds
  • World Raids, i think its called.
because it's just me and a couple friends.
But I cant
  • My own ship
  • Buy deccorations
  • sell treasure and gold the same. i fought my way to it, and took the time to take it to my ship, and be attacked by skeletons and shark bruice the same.
but you left all micro transactions in there for me to buy and not be able to use?
i bough quite a few, and bought, but why bother when i cant use them.
sorry if i dont understand, but uoy got the money from our purchases, and the stats for us being active playing it, i know you all at rare worked really hard on this game but its still sales and active players. sorry if its conffusing to read, i have a hard time explaining what im thinking :/

I hope you all have a wonderful week, and stay safe :) :steamhappy:

I think recommending a 2011 Lego game is beyond the pale for the application of Poe's Law, but I guess you're seen some ♥♥♥♥
I only know when one or two of the Lego games came out (approximately), and they're among the first ones made.

They added a butchered "Safer Seas" mode, then a few months to a year from know they'll announce that it's not popular and they'll remove it 🤣

What's even the point? Even what are now basic features like the Sovereign are unavailable for seemingly no reason.

The cost of supplies is also unsustainable, in a mode where you only gain 30% of base rewards and no emissaries allowed (compared to 100% base plus 150% emissary lvl 5, that's a difference of more than 8 times). To put things into perspective, a Captain's chest is sold at 1400 with a Gold Hoarder or Reaper emissary, while in Safer Seas you're stuck at selling it at a mere 168. But the supplies still cost the same.

At the very least, sovereigns/captaincy needs to be enabled on safer seas. It's absurd that it isn't already a thing, especially with 30% gold earned.

Dude, Im not a fan of pvp, but i go in high seas and solo sloop and do fine. I just travel light, and keep an eye out and try to avoid other players. if they come at me, I scuttle and swim away and confuse them, go on islands and hide in plain sight watching them and thrwoing blunders when i know theyre away... Ive hung out at Merrick and shot cannons and fireballs at them while they sunk my ship and used a 'hide' as they ran past me, cussing because i was outsmarting them. Try playing a little different in high seas, it is a lot of fun that way.

Yeah... since we already have to get more than three times as much treasure as usual to get the same amount of gold why ARE the Sovereigns disabled? What does it matter if we sell our treasure a little faster? And besides, the Sovereigns are cool.

IMO its the devs punishing ppl for asking for a playable game without all the toxic ppl, yes there are fine ppl but the trolls are as thick as Skyrim.

Still though when I want pvp I want pvp but I'd also like to see other ships and not go "fk okay the next 20 minutes to an hour is gonna be fighting fine" basically seeing other players is never enjoyable and with a PVE mode that isn't complete dog $hlt they could make seeing other ships enjoyable and fun.

They COULD make the PvE better. Perhaps they could even add more reasons to join up with other crews to get PvE loot. That would make more situations where you would potentially see backstabbings. Just imagine 2 crews doing something together and 1 crew sends one guy to sneakily weaken the enemy crew or set up a trap so that they either get taken out by the enemies near the end of whatever event or so that they can quickly and easily take them out when the loot comes. That has NEVER happened for me. Everyone either makes a permanent alliance for PvE or they kill me. I would definitely like to see more interesting non-PvP ways to interact with other crews, and as in the things I mentioned earlier, bonus points if that also creates opportunity for more interesting PvP interactions as well.

I excitedly bought the game when I learned about safer seas.
Always wanted to get into the game but I have no buddies that wanna play it despite the fact that they play lethal company all the time and its the SAME GAMEPLAY LOOP!

Anyway, played about 10 hours on SS and its been fun. Was tough learning how to do ship to ship combat all alone in a sloop but I've done ok.

But yeah, I usually log in and take a merchant mission to deliver some crates.
I'll deliver them and twice now I've found a message in a bottle and that sent me off on a quest.
So I arrive at the message location and find a named skeleton with another map to an ashen chest.
Defeat him and get that then finish my bottle quest.
Do another mission maybe a treasure map or another merchant deal.
Start heading back toward an outpost and a skeleton ship pops out of the waves!
Juggling ammo, healing, leaks, and cannon fire, I prevail.
Collect the loot and dodge a storm returning to the outpost but make it.

I now spend 10ish minutes running loot to the vendors since I have so much and might not have a treasure chest to do three at once.
If I'm lucky and one of the skulls I turn in was a king skull or something I'll make like 3000 gold tops.
It's still fun, but knowing I'm missing out on 70% and am going to hit a ceiling on what...skins...I get is a bummer.
Hotklou 27 ENE 2024 a las 3:26
Now that Distinctions are a thing they could remove the limit on levelling trading companies right up until you hit the ceiling right before you'd reset for your first distinction, and from then on you gotta do High Seas to go farther.

Had it all done to me and my crew, backstabbing friendly keggings, Alliance to fight a reaper only to back stab once the reaper is gone, even had one Brig ask us for an Alliance so we'd help them fight a Reaper Gallon our pay would be what we got through them selling but after we sank the Reaper Gallon and we were all within sight of a port they kegged us and then broke the Alliance then they said "sorry couldn't trust you" like Bltch we just took out a Gallon for you, like I get it if you Keg us then sell everything but to keg us then break the Alliance total $0B's across the board.

Na they were just T00l$ who couldn't fight a Gallon so they had to $0B their way out, imo.

its okay to say you don't have a family or friends to play the game with
but many people, including parents do infact play this game with their little kids.
big shocker I know! but some of us are not willing to grind out, and sit with extremely toxic player's who only enjoyment is hunting down other players because they decided to no life the game and have nothing else to do.
like...the experiences many of us have gotten, is just players completely demolishing us for no reason, giving us no chances, and then ♥♥♥♥ talking us to high hell and back. and you expect new players to just be okay with that? just to be steam rolled every time they are on? like bro, just say you're one of those toxic pvper's and get out of here lmao
