Play without EA app
If you want to play the game but not install the EA app you can do so by following this route.

"SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order\SwGame\Binaries\Win64\SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe"

Or you can right click on the game in the library and go to local files. There follow:

"\SwGame\Binaries\Win64\SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe"

Good luck and may the force be with you.

Thank you.
what about other EA games? for example SWBF2?

Makes ya wonder....why they even put an exe in there named ....shipping....that actually launches the game bypassing the client. Not complaining ofc and now I'll be looking for similar files in other games too, lol.

BF2 is a multipleayer game. That will likely not work.

I tend to stay away from EA-games as much as I can. Jedi, Fallen Order is the exemption but I don't want the EA programs on my system.

I am sorry that I do not know of any other bypasses for other EA-Games. :steamsad:

How about save points? Can I create them as needed or does the game do that automatically? If auto, how do I know when I have reached a save point? Thanks.

A save is automatically done when you visit a meditation circle and meditate there. If, for any reason, you get killed the meditation circle you last visited will be your spawn point.

There are also many autosave moments in the game (for example cutscenes or traveling to new systems) but those are not always clear. I have seen the Jedi Fallen Order icon in the bottom right part of the screen acting up some times but I am not 100% sure that is an autosave taking place.

it saves your progress right?

It indeed does. Death isn't so much a punishment. I fell of cliffs (DERP) and just get put back on the ledge I derped out. Very forgiving I might say.

The only thing it doesnt do is steam related stuff since your effectively running DRM free.

So you wont get steam achievs etc.

good suggestion.

If you want to fully avoid the EA app and Origin, but still keep the steam overlay do the following.

1. Uninstall EA APP, or don't install it in the first place.
2. Add the path below to the launch options.
3. When you launch the game, simply click no at the prompt.
4. Game launches and works fine.

Add this line to launch options.
"D:\gaming\clients\steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order\SwGame\Binaries\Win64\SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe" %command%
Be sure to change the above path to match your own steam location.

If by any chance you click yes at the prompt, cancel the EA App install and the game will launch as expected.

Edit.
After testing this for an hour, it seems Steam Achievements do not pop, even though the steam overlay is working. Probably the above that's disabling them. I'll try it with the EA App installed and test. 1st Achievement is for completing the intro sequence I believe.
