controller not connecting

hey so I have recently being having issues with my ps5 controller,
my controller straight up wont connect even though steam says my controller is connected, yet the game wont respond to it.
every other game works just fine and there is no issue.

I think it's an issue with the EA launcher overriding the Steam overlay, but if anyone knows for sure or comes up with a solution I would love to know.

Same here with an xbox controller.

I was having controller problems too, but I noticed that the game defaulted to Steam Input enabled and it was causing conflicts. Once I disabled it, my Xbox controller has worked with no issues.

I disablded steam input and it still wont work, I have alternated between the two like atleast 20 times by now and it still wont work

I use my PS5 controller via usb cable and load the game up with my mouse (not in big picture mode) once at the start screen of the game i plug the usb cable in with my pad connected and it works.
