Some of the worst level design I've ever seen
Finished an objective on a planet (it's the planet before going to Krayshek planet or whatever it's called) and oh my goodness, remembering how to get back out of that labyrinth to get to my ship. Holy sh#t that was annoying. Way too much running around to the wrong places. Thought I could just figure it out from visual cues, but no. You have to use the map and the map is not user friendly at all.

Putting this game down at a mid-area and then coming back to it later is like a death sentence.

It's a shame because the characters, story, voice acting, visuals, sound and music score are so awesome.

The tedium of navigating the levels when you're just trying to get the hell off the planet is such a buzz killer.

They should have at least included an option with a where to go marker, especially given how messy and multi-branching the level design is.

And all those false paths trying to lead you to get that extra crate for light saber skins which I have absolutely no interest in.....ugh.

I've never seen a game with such sh#tty level design.

How IGN thought this game is a 9 out of 10 is beyond me.

The next iteration better be a lot smarter.

Yea, you have to go back to Zeffo after Kashyyyk too for yet another puzzle.

I could definitely do without the puzzles and having to back track through maps tbh.

I'm one of those people who get lost in a maze I walk walk in circles for hours. But I can tell you with this game that didn't happen. I was able to find my way with little effort.

Yes there were some areas where I got lost but quickly found my way out. It's not really all that hard. If you find yourself returning to the same spot, it's not because your lost, it's because the path leads you some place else later.

I don't mind the backtracking so much since it's designed to let you into new areas as you gain abilities. The map and mechanic design is very much like Metroid. From the descriptions you can read for Survivor it'll be a mix of linear and open world. The 3D map is a struggle to get used to. I don't think anyone can argue with that. But once you get used to it it makes sense. I hope that exploration is better rewarding. The extra lore was cool but the cosmetics were pretty subpar. Really hope the open world adds meaningful sidequests with either ability upgrades, cosmetics or both. If you're a big fan of SW definitely get through that map struggle. It's worth the playthrough. I just completed it as a refresher and man am I glad I did. Trilla was such a cool villain. And there's a surprise at the end.

Its been really pissing me off. Like the one planet with the fallen republic ship. I fall down and see it and go wow then I wander aimlessly confused with no way back because you have to go around the entire map to return to ship. Then you return to that same location again and do same thing over.

Then on Kashyyyk i try to find obj when returning there and i end up at a locked door so i go all the way back to start to to get to correct path. Then there the terrible ball puzzles and lantern/candle puzzles where i actually quit and started playing for months where i would play a bit, get stuck and forget game. Then i come back, get unstuck and get stuck again.

Like its good in a mix of jank combat (Mostly with big enemies being jank) and jank map design.

Its awful, i cant stand these type of games where wandering around aimlessly is considered content

Yeah. it's pretty bad.
That's part of what bothered me about this game. the levels make no sense unless this is first and foremost a puzzle and platforming game (which I guess it is). it seems like everything is secondary to that.

Instead of being in a level that makes sense in context with the story and world you dropped in a maze/puzzle hybrid and expected to spend a lot time exploring every little path just to progress a bit. it's tedious.

it's also annoying that backtracking is essentially a mechanic here and baked into the every level. and considering there's no fast travel... ugh

No the game is stupid. I had almost no issues in Dark souls 1, Factorio, Noita... games immensely more complex than fallen order. Its a good game but its a AAA game that ended up closer to a AA game.
