A simple fix for EA app when trying to launch the game through Steam.
How I fixed mine:
1. Install the game through Steam, normally.

2. If you don't already have the EA app installed, install it.
Note that the game will not be indicated as "Installed" in the EA app. Yet!

3. Now install the game through the EA app and indicate exactly the folder you installed the game through steam. For example: "M:\GAMES\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order"
It will start calculating the installation time by looking for the files you pointed to.

4. When finished it will start installing approximately 6GB in the same folder.

5. When you finish installing the game, you can run it through Steam normally.

DONE. No bypass. No BS. It's simple and straightforward.
I Hope this helps you.

ps. This is exactly the procedure that the Origin app did automatically before. The EA app doesn't do this automatically so you have to do it manually for now, at least until they fix it.
And you only need to do this 1 time or whenever you reinstall the game.

I had the issue previously where the EA app was refusing to recognize the EA games I purchased through Steam.

Ultimately what fixed it for me so that I could play it/run it through Steam normally as you say was uninstalling, going to the EA website and unlinking my Steam account, reinstalling, and relinking my EA & Steam accounts when prompted on the EA app pop up during initial setup after launch.

Since doing that my experience has been great for the most part, although there has been a couple times where the EA app inexplicably crashed immediately after launching the game. Since I'm playing on the Deck I just delete the developer proton files, launch again and after the EA app reinstalls it's good to go once more.

It's really lame having to go through these frustrations, EA needs to either kill the app entirely or give it some major TLC so it's not such a hassle and so problematic and janky to deal with.

1. Right click Jedi Fallen Order in your steam library and click properties.

2. type

"C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order\SwGame\Binaries\Win64\SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe" %command%

into launch options.

3. enjoy.

This fixed it for me. Other fixes on other threads never did. Thank you! Mine didn’t even have to redownload the 6 GB. Thank you!

I really don't know... your problem is new to me. I didn't have that problem. The install button already appeared on mine. Try to run the game first on steam and see if it works.

Already did.
In the EA App the game is just listed in the library and has the Steam Icon in the corner.
It has all the Info as expected but no download / install / launch button.

Also uninstalled and re-installed EA app.
Asked EA support who don't know anything or just don't care.

Working with the Steam launch option:
"C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order\SwGame\Binaries\Win64\SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe" %command%
right now, but apparently that does not enable Steam Achievements ?

So basically, OP is saying I need to install the EA app, and then install the game a second time? I hate this so much.

The ♥♥♥♥♥♥ part is, that Jedi: Survivor has the option to do this, but Fallen Order doesnt. I think its an issue that EA Play isnt compatible with some of the origin games. Which is completely stupid.

I have this same exact problem. I wanted to play through Fallen Order again before Jedi Survivor, but this is just insane.
