Fallen Order isn't launch anymore
Hi,
I wanted to play the game again, but I can't launch it anymore, EA is always saying that there is a problem, I shoould try it later again...for two weeks now.
ES isn't writing me back.
Has somebody else the same problem or can somebody help me?
Files are alright, other games from EA are working...so I really don't know what to do now.
Thanks

Go into C:\Program Files(x86)\ Steam\Steamapps\Common\Jedi Fallen Order\ and use the '...shipping.exe' to launch the game. You won't have the Steam overlay and achievements working but, at least you'll get the game running without that launch problem.

There is a better solution, i had the same problem.

1. hit your windows key and search for "regedit"
2. go to "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Respawn\Jedi Fallen Order"
3. Change the value of the variable "Install Dir" to whatever your install directory is for the game in steam.

Now you have your proper steam launch, with overlay and achievements again.

What about a solution for us Steam Deck folks on Linux? EA has me so frustrated.

My Respawn folder doesn't open into anything else and I can't get to a Jedi Fallen Order folder- any tips?

This solution worked. Wouldn't launch at all. Saying it was EA apps fault but after I did this i found out it was trying to launch the game from my C drive but the game was installed in my F drive. I guess I didn't transfer it right between drives but thanks so much.

You can set the directory path for games in the EA client settings (per game.) Most the time, for people switching up from Origin to the EA client, the issue is the path data in Windows Registry. Sometimes a simple uninstall / re-install of client and games... along with cleaning the Registry... will correct those path entries. But, you should always specify the path for installs of games in the client as opposed to simply moving stuff from one location to another. Windows is supposed to create 'links' from the original location to the new one you move stuff but, you can't always rely on that when it comes to registry entries.

Yes - really messed up on Steamdeck since last update. Game loads one time in 10. Regularly cannot find local or cloud saves. Always fails to quit correctly, dumping into a dead EA screen.

Come on! Clear up your mess!
