How can you play this game offline?

EAs app has an offline mode, and even says I can play some games in this mode. This is a single player game, yet I can't play it offline? Thats ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!

You should be able to, I use Steamdeck offline half the time and never had a issue unless its a live service game or multiplayer game that requires a server. I just go into offline mode on steam.

Wouldn’t the EA app still need internet?

nope, as long as the app is running in offline mode you should be able to play it.

half the time i play fifa 23 (player career only because im not an idiot who repays cash every year over and over for the same cards in FUT!) the ea app decides to go offline all on its own and it never bothers fifa. cant see why it would bother this game when it has no online components at all aside from the initial purchase.
