Origin Verifying Game Files and then Stuck on "Preparing"
After it verifies the game files Origin get stuck "preparing".

fixed it by closing out of steam and the origin console steam launches to play game. reopen the full origin client, click jedi fallen order and update. it pops up an extra agree to our terms box, then actually updates and becomes usable
