Do lightsaber parts actually do anything?

Title. Having just acquired my first lightsaber part....are they cosmetic, or do they serve an actual purpose/function?

Cosmetic. You can get an upgrade later on though that'll change it up a bit but otherwise mostly just cosmetic.

From what I've gathered some parts make it sound different as well.

Dathomir is worth an early look for a lightsaber related item as soon as you can though it may be challenging (at least it was on Grand Master).

A missed opportunity, i wished they would give different stats like +crit chance or more damage but sadly its not an rpg.
