Lightsaber Controls Not Responding?
Has anyone else been experiencing times in the game where your lightsaber controls are not responding? It seems to pop up fairly regularly. I can mash the RMB or LMB and nothing happens, no attacks or blocks. It's really annoying when it happens in combat but it also happens when I'm just standing around with no enemies nearby. There's nothing wrong with my mouse, I can even go into the map when this is happening and zoom in and out fine using the same buttons. It seems specifically tied to the lightsaber.

OK, I'm not glad that you're experiencing it too because it's really annoying, but I'm glad I'm not the only one getting this bug

Are you guys running out of stamina perhaps ?
Old Grey Nov 15, 2019 @ 1:53pm
Nope , Not running out of stamina.. It even happens at the beginning of a fight. definitely a bug of some sort.

As a test would you consider lowering your settings and having a play to see if it is caused by low FPS.

I am not saying it doesnt happen just I am not seeing this and I would like to try and help you guys have a good time like my self.

maybe try turning off all all overlays and closing any other programs you might have running

There is some sort of mouse delay or something input related when using the RMB. Double-clicking it tends to work everytime, but just going to a hold action right off the bat sometimes fails to register.

Vsync can cause nasty imput lag in some situations - maybe try turning it off for a test.
(thou I think you would be complaining about more than just the RMB if it was this)

IF it is this then you can lock your FPS as well as vsync and it will help to prevent the input lag.

IF @60hz lock your FPS to 60 or try 59 if you get screen tear

Might be a good idea to make sure you are not using up all your video memory and actually achiving a stable FPS

I'm having the same problem where about every 3 minutes my mouse buttons stop responding for about 30 seconds. VSYNC isn't the cure either... no idea whats causing this. This is not a FPS issue either. I can still look around with my mouse but can't attack or defend. I can demonstrate this by hitting defend over and over and eventually it just stops working.

I'm getting good performance other than this issue. But just to check, I dropped every video and graphics setting to its absolute lowest and the problem still occurs, I don't believe it's related to video settings and input lag. I believe this is more in the bug category

One thing for sure is that if you are on higher difficulties this can ruin your game play if you can't block or swing at the perfect time. Enemies can kill you in 2 hits... hope they fix this.

I have experienced the same issues. Chalked it up to a glitch. What is driving me though is the poncho and lightsaber seeming to live in there own parallel atmospheric zone. It must be windy there.

Having the same problem at 30 or 60 frames. No frame drops, vsync off or on, beginning of combat or middle. Doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for it, just randomly stops receiving input for a few seconds. Wonder if it's only a kb/m thing

Hi, I play Origin with a premium subscription and have the same problem. Maybe not so that the mouse buttons don't respond at all, but it doesn't terribly grab my blocks and pairings.
JFO has no tutorial at all, only instructional videos that don't help much. I came to many things by trial and error, or rather countless deaths. After passing two planets on a Jedi Master level, I gave up and play Jedi Knight, but sometimes I want to set the story mode.

I don't understand when and how to pair an attack at this perfect moment, regardless of the size of the allowed window. This is best seen when reflecting blasters, when more are flying or one stormtrooper fires twice.

I have to click on each bullet? I do it and very often it doesn't work, at any level. Click and hold? Didn't work. Same with blocking melee attacks with opponents in a larger group. It seems to me that I did everything right, and this is not the case, I die, die, die.

When I look at it, I don't know if it's a bug, not being scaled up, the lack of my precision and understanding of the system, or something else? In my opinion, it looks much worse than in Assassin's Creed or even Jedi Academy, where there was no blocking :/

I don't think this is a bug, I'm experiencing it as well. I think it's just poor design that blocking in particular is really sluggish compared to a game like Sekiro where it was virtually instantaneous.

Also, if you notice, there's a "cooldown" for blocking, meaning you can't spam it like you could in Sekiro. Once you block and miss, you can't just insta-block again. You have to wait for another half second or so.

I'm having the same issue, but performance is fine.

Edit - What seems to have worked for me is changing video from Borderless Window to Fullscreen. I've been testing now by swinging at thin air and so far each mouse click is registering. I've submitted a bug report to EA anyway, just to be sure.
