DualShock 4 Issues

So it turns out or at least for me that Star Wars does not pick up the DualShock 4 if launched from steam, the only way for it to be picked up is by turning steam input on under game settings in steam which results in the game viewing it as an Xbox pad. But if you’re like me and are too used to the PlayStation prompts and Xbox layout sends your brain into a frenzy then you have to launch Star Wars via Origin and not steam, the game will then show you the correct prompts. Also I’m curious if achievements are shared? As I bought on steam but I launch/play via origin. Also if anyone finds a fix for the PS4 prompts on steam do let me know.

There's probably no fix for the prompts, you just gotta remember that square is X and circle is B basically

Also if you plan on using DS4 then just use a keymapper like DS4Windows

It works fine, it just shows the wrong buttons. How does using DS4Windows to emulate an Xbox controller fix this problem?

It shows the PS4 button prompts by using DS4windows and disabling Steam controller support for the game

launch it in steam, after signing in on origin. I just double click the play

yep, i just had to remember the x and b cause who uses an xbox controller, am i right?

Open origin instead of steam and Star Wars should be in your library, then just launch

I'll fixed it for me, try this out :)

1.uninstall Ds4
2 disconect ps controller
3. click on settings
4. go into controller, general controller settings
5. click on recover steam controller firmware
6 toggle all off expect Guide Butten Focuses Steam
7. conect you're ps controller

I hope this works

Does the game not bug for you using DS4Windows? its my first time using this program. everything was fine, like buttons were showing correct. but i cant get to menu pressing options and cant open map with the touchpad. also in the menu the navigation is buggy =(

That is weird - I use a DS4 controller both at home and at work, and the game correctly recognizes the controller as DS4 with the correct prompts. DS4Windows is also not running (but the drivers have been installed).

UPDATE: the prompts work for me if I launch from origin or directly from desktop, the latter I think launches through steam so I guess it’s fixed itself?

I had that problem with the menus and its only in this game i just turned of DS4Windows and launched the game with the dualshock pluged in and it worked normally
