FPS drops
Anyone else experiencing weird fps drops, i locked my fps to 90 and when i explore or enter new area or mid combat sometimes i drop to 60 fps for a split second for no reason. Is it on my end or games end.
Specs: i7 8700k, gtx 1070, 16gb ram ddr4

IMO it's because of the DRM being used sadly almost every game using the same code, I see complaints about FPS drops by random people seems to be the common factor in every case.

This is why I didn't buy the game, and hoping they will remove it if it's removed within the next week i'll buy the game.

I get the odd stuttering from time to time, I've locked the fps to 60 but still happens every so often.

If you drop to 60 there is indeed a reason. Its not because of DRM either. Thats just another Denuvo same old thing post to ignore. Most likely they will get little optimization things like this fixed up over time.

I could do that too but I usually just buy the game if it's a good game and doesn't use that stuff that lowers my FPS, I did have Origin subscription at a time when I played "Battlefield 1" But cancelled because of Denuvo giving random stuttering in that game and draining resources from other tasks, if any EA Devs wan't to confirm that subscription can go ahead <3.

Right now im running "Black Desert" "Blade & Soul" "EVE Online" and actively playing a game of League OF Legends I can tab between any of the other games and hit 144 FPS lol.

I Leave the other games logged in for the login rewards while farming my league tokens and stuff.

60 is still plenty fast enough FPS to be causing you no issues. Just play the game. SO what it dropped from 60 to 90 and the only difference you noticed was a number on an FPS monitor. If the game is actually freezing then its an issue not FPS drops that you don't notice in gameplay.

But why should any game be locked or drop to 60 FPS when modern Hardware should run up to 165 Hz on a modern rig 165 HZ LCD Monitors.

I don't think this is a DRM issue. It reminds me of the stuttering I've experienced in Vampyr and I suspect this to be an issue with stream loading assets in Unreal Engine. I've noticed the hitching only occurs when traversing specific sections of each level. Sometimes you can even see extra LOD and textures loading in, if you pay attention to the background.

What helped for me to some degree is to disable the 60fps lock I would normally apply via Rivatuner while just using the ingame limiter. The frametimes are not perfect, but bareable and the hitching is somewhat reduced, but not eliminated.

It's more like a drop + weird stutter idk how to explain it. It is noticable.

You cant run this game at 165 FPS with a GTX 1070. Having a monitor capable of displaying 165 FPS and having a PC that can actually perform at that level are 2 different things. Maybe if you had a GTX 2080ti.

Yea I know what you mean. There's definitely a weird "snag" at times. IIRC the Battlefront 2 campaign had the same issue for a while until it was fixed, so hopefully we get a fix soon. There also seems to be a weird effect on the lightsaber when Vsync is turned on. Performance is great otherwise.

Totally agree, preformance is great except for this...

Same spec as yours but CPU i5-8600 and it is unplayable because FPS drops to 20 and in first scene it stayed at 20 permanently when I've jumped a bit up on this scrapyard.

vsync off, overlays off, no help I also have g-sync monitor
Zaphre Nov 15, 2019 @ 2:30pm
To me performance increased by a good margin by disabling ingame vsync and enabling it on NVCP + Tripple Buffering.

Atleast doing this some minor stutters i had vanished.

Other than that, frames drop eventually when entering an unexplored area of a map priodically, b ut i´m hholding 60fps with no sweat on a GTX 1080 @ 1440p
