Activating on Origin
Can someone explain what obvious step I'm missing here. Bought game on Steam, go to play game, need to login to Origin account, login to origin, it asks for Product code for Unidentified Game, can't find a CD Key anywhere on the new Steam interface. Rebooted Steam after installing, since I know sometimes that can wake things up, but no dice.

Literally nothing about this online that I can find. How the hell do I get these two to work together?

and how does one do that, because i cant actually find anything helpful anywhere that explains how to. i keep seeing references to it and then thats it.
When you launch the game there should be a pop-up to link them

how do you buy a game and not know your own product code
Viper Nov 15, 2019 @ 12:07pm
Im going to purchase on Origin so I don't need to fool with that. It has to link to Steam somehow to verify your ownership. Not sure how that works. I dont think they use product codes anymore.

exact same issue. on lice chat with origin about it because steam blatantly refuses to let you contact them for this game because its ea. but i feel like ea cant help with this because this is steams fault. the keys are "DLC" which can be viewed in game after it launches in the overlay. which we cant get to because we need the product key.

You click the green "Purchase Product" on the store page in the steam app? Are you always this helpful? Let's assume I'm an idiot who doesn't know what the product code is. Where would I find that in this convoluted new Steam interface?

It used to be helpfully located by right click and "View CD KEY"....

i downloaded the game, linked my steam to origin and that was it...was ready to play

You shouldnt have to link a product code, I didnt.

That being said, I believe you can find it in your library or overlay somewhere, currently at work so cant help you with that, try google.

Yep, This seemed to do it. That didn't pop up for me the first two times I loaded it. I took down my VPN and rebooted both Steam and Origin (now that I know there's a window that's supposed to load there) and it came up.

Thanks!

I keep having the same issue. Origin asks for a product key that I have not received and cannot access even though I have purchased the game and it is in my steam library. Please help. Everyone says to link my steam account to Origin, but no one is saying how. I keep looking it up and there is no info anywhere.

If you have a VPN try turning that off. It worked once I did that.

So if I bought this game on Origin but Still want steam access like Achievements, Steam UI and all of that as if I bought it on steam, How would I do that?

If you get it on steam I see you still need Origin to play it anyways. Is there a way to play it ON STEAM with all my data shown ON STEAM and not shown on Origin as if I bought it here instead of there.

YES! I know you can add non-steam games to steam! IT DOESN'T WORK WITH "EA" GAMES! I tried many times with this game and many more with Sims 4. it simply doesn't allow it and breaks the game entirely.
