because THAT's important... <eyeroll>

Actually it is, every Star Wars movie has had at least one dismemberment done, Jedi outcast had it and it was fun and it added some realism.

Disney is the one to blame for this, only animals can be dismember, im sure a mod can be added for troopers.
Well, you can dismember the Nightsister undeads (one of their arms will fly off), and technically they don't count as animals :p

Anyway - the thing is, dismemberment isn't dynamic (the cut sections are always the same per enemy, unlike in, say, Metal Gear Revengeance ), so unless Respawn actually did prepare dismemberments for humanoid characters and simply disabled the function, it won't be easy to mod it into the game.

you mustve not seen many mods and know why they are called mods, they change things in the game which might end up taking awhile but eventually it will happen

No I have no idea what "mods" mean, enlighten me?

Seriously though, did you read the part where I said "it won't be easy"? I'm not ruling it out, just stating that it's not gonna happen anytime soon because from the look of things, it is unlikely it will be something as easy as re-enabling a disabled function - so unless you got a pal who infiltrated Respawn and is ready to smuggle out the uncooked Unreal Editor project, it's unlikely to happen soon.

His retort will be: "But.. mods."
you mustve not seen many mods

Lol yeah.
Funny also telling me that I must have not seen many mods, when I've been a quite active modder on many games. Including Battletech, for which I actually self-learnt CSharp, runtime code injection and IL Code just to add a feature I wanted before starting the campaign... (which I didn't even play in the end... smh)

Ah yes, watching a man murder children, get dismembered and then immolated. Totally made for kids.

Yes, it is. Also you barely see him doing it, it's being told and you see vague things in the holocron. But yes, it's made for kids. It's irrelevant what you think.

You mean the man who got rich selling merchandise to kids is going to lie and say his movies showing extremely graphic subject matter are for kids? Say it ain't so, nerd.

Based on the films that isn't the case. I hate the film with a passion, but Kylo does decapitate one of the red gaurds in TLJ.

While cool, is this even canon?

It's just an excuse. The concept, plus the idea that there is no casual dismemberment in order to make big moments "stand out", are excuses for laziness on the part of the developers. Or maybe it's because they don't have the guts to include a staple of the franchise in the current political climate. Either way, it's pathetic.

"staple" except it's not? It's quite literally only done in a handful of games (the only ones I remember are the older jedi knight games and force unleashed 2.) and everytime it happend in the movies something big or plot related was happening. You act like it constantly happend and that's just 100% false.

Saying it's lazy is also pathetic. It's most likely due to disney.

In fairness the dismemberment in Outcast and Academy was quite tame. You had to activate the real thing with a cheat code.

In the end of the day the Star Wars license is owned by Disney and they want everything to be '' family friendly '' because it = $$$$$$$$$.
And it's the same with EA.

I know that the Joker made a ton of money but that was a rare exception.
M-rated movies normally don't do very well by the big players standards, pandering to children is very important if you want to make money.
Joker isnt an exception, its clearly what the people want to see a raw orginial fantastic films. most weve gotten over the last 10 years is copy pasted cinemas. you clearly dont get how supply and demand works. Joker is officially more profitable than Endgame, with lower budget and higher profits domestically, CHina isnt paying fo this movie at all. thats another $1Billion down the drain, whereas Endgame got 500mil each domestically and from china. tell the difference from the product being made for itself instead the one pandering to everybody.

That's the definition of an exception, though? It's the first R-rated movie ever that grossed this much. It's a gigantic succes for sure, but the definition of exception until it happens more often.

And I guarantee you a lot of it has to do with the fact it's linked to the superhero franchise. If those weren't big, Joker wouldn't have been big, it's that simple.

That's never going to happen, period.
Is been years since EA made a game that actually had genuine mod support, (see battlefield 2). and knowing EA these days they're just gonna completely ignore the modding community as awhole, same story went with bethesda.
Edit: If EA actually decided to add gore they're gonna make you pay like what 20+ dollars gore that should've been free? a company did this before (see latest total war series)

and yet there are already mods available that completely replace your character model in Fallen Order, the game has only been out for a few days :P

Nexusmods already has a few visual mods available for Fallen Order including a replacement visual model for Cal

Besides I do wonder if the dismemberment is not already in the game but can be enabled through a variable somewhere in the game's files

Give it a few months and someone will work it out I am sure.

Don't forget most recent EA games have been multiplayer games thus you will never have many mods for those. This is the first proper singleplayer game EA has released in a decade. While yes, official mod support makes modding a lot easier for the community, even without official mod support people find a way.

Besides this is not a normal EA game, it is by Respawn who seem to sit a bit outside the normal EA nonsense. For example this game doesn't use EA's sh*** DICE engine. It uses Unreal Engine 4 - which as you should know is one of the most easily moddable engines out there.

Looking on Nexus forums there is already a few mod requests up, including red lightsabers, sith visual model, sith powers and of course... dismemberment.

Waiting for dismemberment mod!
Let us have the dismemberment mod! It is without a doubt one of the nicest ways to let a man go - instant decapitation. Wounds cauterised, no blood, it's a great time for everyone. I bet nobody likes ol' Ben Kenobi slicin' that illegal alien's fist in the bar.
it's over anakin, i have the high ground
