Why wouldn't a lightsaber cast a shadow? It's blade acts as a solid
Gazmeister Nov 15, 2019 @ 10:14am
Wouldn't it cast a shadow anyway?
CryonicSuspension Nov 15, 2019 @ 10:22am
Why wouldn't it cast a shadow? Do you even Physics? :steamfacepalm: :lunar2019piginablanket:

Isnt the blade of a lightsaber, yano...light? would light have a shadow?

Don't they use lightsabers to see in the dark sometimes in games/comics?

You do know he's trolling right?:steamfacepalm:

Well, it's not transparent, so it does absorb/reflect light, so it casts a shadow.

Ok mr physics expert, tell me how can a light source have a shadow of its own, have you ever seen a shadow of your tubelight at your home.

Okay. One, yes. I was joking. Because, this being a new game, there are people complaining about stupid things making the game unplayable and this is a stupid thing to complain about.

But more importantly. Do I physics? Yes. I physics. The blade is a light source.

LOL - good one!

youre not entirely wrong tho
light sources cause shadows, they dont create them
Maiskolben Nov 15, 2019 @ 11:47am
A light source can create a shadow if it blocks a stronger light source.

Edit: or a light source of a different type of light.

It's like OP suggested the earth might be flat and attracted a bunch of crazies defending it

Yeah, I don't know if these people realize that light doesnt cast it's own shadow...

If the external light source is much stronger than the source of the saber theoretically there could be a "shadow"

If you took an illuminated tube light outdoors on a sunny day it absolutely would cast a shadow.
