My 30 second review - TLDR 5/10

Ok, I'm 5 hours into the game, 2nd highest difficulty, and I'm finished with this piece of trash. I don't understand how anybody who has played a high quality 3rd person game like The Last of Us, Uncharted or Tomb Raider could even put this game in the same league. Here's why I personally found it to be no better than a 5/10 game:

The AI is absolutely laughable - I can stand 15 meters away from a Scout who is looking straight at me, and he does nothing. A few times troopers were literally 3 meters away, again facing me, and they just stood there. On a different occasion, one of those rat things was snapping at me from a meter away - but he got stuck on a very slight incline which he couldn't climb for some reason. This is truly some of the worst AI I've seen in years, more befitting a C-grade studio than Respawn.

The story line and data logs are so dry and boring that they sound like something you'd read in an accounting text book

Visually it's amazingly poor - I'm running everything at max detail at 4K, and the environments are square, blocky and drab. Seriously, go play Tomb Raider if you want to see what a 2019 third person action game should look like. Oh yeah, apparently only every fifth clay pot can be smashed, with the rest being indestructible. And while one drop of 20 meters won't kill you, another that is 15 meters will, because you're not going the way the level designer wanted you to go. Oh, you may not die if you hit one of the gazillion invisible walls first.

The combat system has the depth of a puddle. There are hardly any combos or high skill moves to pull off. Again, go take a look at God of War, Batman or Spiderman to see how deep a combat system can be. Here it's just parry and strike, or dodge and strike, or chuck in a Force power now and then. Combine this with the deaf, dumb and blind AI, and the overall combat experience is laughable.

As for the puzzles, are fans of the game serious when they say they're great? Again, go play Tomb Raider to see what a decent puzzle is. You'll find Fallen Order's don't even come close.

I could go on and on, but if you're expecting a top tier 3rd person action game that can rub shoulders with the best in the genre, you're going to be sorely disappointed. On the other hand, if you've barely played any quality 3rd person games in recent years and are a massive fan of Star Wars, you'll probably think this is worth a purchase.

yo i played this game for a few hours and I got to say i actually really like its what I excpected out of it just wish you could actually pilot the ship. Fighting seems pretty good and im sure once you progress through the game the fighting gets amazing. Love the Graphics and from what i can tell this isnt a pay to play kind of game (well of course its not its single player). I love the star wars universe all of it even the family guy and robot chicken parodies.Great game so far you might want to wait for a sale before you buy the game. I just had some extra cash to spend.

So what are the face animations like? After watching the promotional video's & by the look of the characters face in them I've been half expecting something like what we got with Mass Effect Andromeda.
