Feels too hard on any difficulty
I dont understand how you do this. I'm unable to beat any boss on any difficulty without some kind of cheese or using all of the stims - their red attacks always have magnetism no matter how many times I press dodge and how far away I'm, and any of my combos always getting interrupted with all of the blocks being ignored, while I can't do the same to the boss for some reason.
The fight with Trilla in torture room is stright bs - she always casts her aoe farts while upclose, and sound with animation for it is similiar to choke move (which is always guaranteed damage for 1/2 of hp bar) which makes it difficult to recognize and impossible to dodge. Watching Grandmaster playthrough reveals that apprently she stands still whole fight with her back open and same attaks I do deal x5 damage. I don't get it

oh, i'm not at this fight yet. only thing i can recommend is learning when to parry and when to dodge, but if you're further than me you probably already figured that out.

I didn't really get good until my second play through. Use roll dodge constantly, and slow. Slow, slow, slow everybody down. It's hard to Parry.

Never grasped how to do the parry - It does not seem to work on bosses at all whenever I try it. So I did what I do best - cheese and abuse. You can use the doorway to the torture chamber to gatekeep this bitсh after your first death - she is tethered to the room, unable to leave, and if you step in and step out quick enough you will be able to make her stuck there. You will need to finish her properly tho (be inside when her health is close to triggering the cutscene), or game will bug out and you will get stuck there forever.

Yes, the game is difficult but the only part that made me feel like rage quitting was the end boss. Way too unnecessarily difficult. I had to lower the difficulty to complete it.

Its not so much the difficulty but the painful glitching, I swear at least once in a boss fight cal blocks and remains in blocking stance no matter what button I press, there were times when I knew Id made a solid hit only to have it not cause damage.

There are times when I dodge and by no means could any damage have occurred and yet cal takes a massive hit, times when I'm high in the air from a double flip and the enemy is doing that lightsaber body twirl move and... he hit me in the air? but the sabers are pointing down.....

Weirdly enough during the Dathomir wanderer fight after dying 6 or more times to him he just quit using his massive power moves and I took him down with little effort, didnt feel rewarding, he reverted to his basic movies he uses in the begining of the fight and I just blocked until he was fatigued and damaged blocked until he was fatigued and so on

Perhaps Cal's hit box is slightly larger than his body?

Although I've played The Force Unleashed 1 and 2 on hardest difficulty with great enjoyment and the craziest of mods for Jedi Academy "Escape from Yavin 4" where enemies carried 2 saber staffs or had insanely imagined lightsaber weapons and that was frustrating yet thoroughly enjoyable

You're not alone in feeling this way! I wouldn't say I'm bad at games by any stretch, but this is a very challenging game for me. I had to lower it to the easiest setting. I feel shame.:steamsad:

when discussing SWFO, you almost inevitably have the game compared to virtually any game From Software has ever developed (typically referred to collectively as soulsbourne). since SB games have a well earned reputation for being extremely difficult, it makes sense that there would be a challenge to this game as well. now anyone who has played both says that even on hardest difficulty SWFO doesn't quite match the difficulty of SB games, but you do have to have very precise timing when it comes to parry/dodge, and strike. while playing on second-to-hardest difficulty I was also getting my rear handed to me during bossfights. I had no problem dealing with your typical storm troopers and vermin. I found that just like with SB games, each boss has a number of attacks that are better to just avoid (rolls and dodges), even if they don't turn red while leading up to it. Some bosses are better to just spamhold the block button until they move to one of their more powerful attacks. trilla was by far the most aggravating of these as she uses a lot of dirty tricks and she gets worse as her health depletes. best of luck.

I finished the game the other day ( I slowed right down to playing an hour or two at a time because it got a bit repetitive and the story didn't really pull me in ) but on grand master the final boss took 7 or 8 tries, a little disappointing.

the main thing is to take lock-on off when you need to move so you can sprint.

It has soulslike in it for a reason

I found the easiest difficulty too easy to enjoy combat gameplay and medium difficulty too difficult. Still, even on medium, it's not the difficulty per se that kills the fun - but the constant backtracking it forces you to do because you're constantly dying and save points often are quite far apart and all enemies respawn. So it is this "Soulslike" aspect that pretty much ruins the experience for me, which is a shame, since apart from that I really like this game.

Just finished the game. Tried new game plus on the hardest difficulty played a few hours and immediately noticed how easy the parrying was and remembering how hard the timing was. It seems I learned the timing to the point during my normal playthrough.

i quit at the arena battle with the mandalorian. where you have to fight everything you've encountered so far at once, twice followed by the mando. that was 6months ago. thinking ill give it another go, plow thru that and try to have fun again. i didn't find it too hard until that lazy encounter. i really don't identify with the jedi protagonist at all either. that didn't help. i have stronger feelings about the stormtroopers i'm chopping down then my guy. but i was having fun till that arena.

that arena is probably the hardest part of the game and isn't really too hard so long as you know how to kill the spider and ogre lookin guy easily.

and yeah, Cal is the crappiest jedi and has no real point in the story... everything is happening to/around him.
