Play without Origin?

is there a way to just not have to deal with origin? still salty over battlefield 3 and kotr... I refuse to use origin. have wanted to play this for years now..... Or am I going to have to wait until I eventually pick up a ps5?

According to PCGamingWiki, Steam version is DRM-free. You don't even need Steam client, because the game can be launched directly from 'SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe'. I think the only benefit from launching through Steam+Origin is to collect achievements on both platforms.

Also, according to Steam wiki[steam.fandom.com], you need to rename Origin Launcher if you already have it installed:

NOTE: If Origin is detected on your system, it will try to launch; uninstall Origin or rename Origin launcher .exe to avoid this.

i can start the game with the Shipping exe but i have no voice sounds... any other sound works like ambient sounds and music. Just the talking is mute...

Origin is a pile of ♥♥♥♥, one week it will work fine through steam and with the steam controller, the next Origin gets a stick up there ass about not having such amazing hardware so they ♥♥♥♥ up the system so the controller no longer works. all i wanted to do was play, hell i can't even play ATS becuase they did some ♥♥♥♥ up, and there system will no longer allow steam controller inputs to be changed, i had a nice button map setup, buth they updated and now even after restarting all of my ♥♥♥♥ and re mapping all my buttons the games still only recgonizes the Factory inputs. But atleast i can play ATS, Origin says ♥♥♥♥ you play with a keyboard.

yet he will go buy an overpriced console from the market leader in saying ♥♥♥♥ you to pc gamer's and gamer's in general but you ok with that

sony are the biggest scumbags next to ea but at least you dont need to pay for a useless console to use origin

I mean I get it, but I’d never take that much effort to do something that will never effect the company in a meaningful way.

I love origin for all the old games they still sell/support. I don't play COD and other BS games from EA, the closest one would be Star Wars Battlefront 2 which to me is borderline COD evilness....but it is Star Wars evil so that is ok by me.
