Do you need to play with a controller?

I have wanted to play this for a while and i was wondering does it need to be played with a controller or are the keyboard controls quite good.

I prefer using my Xbox One controller but it is up to you what you prefer.

I started playing today, and I tried to play with my xbox controller which works very well with some other games but it didn't work with this one. If you find a tip please let me know.

i would recommend a controller as it is easier at higher difficulties but if u dont have one i guess its fine but it is somewhat easier than mouse and keyboard

When you boot the game up for the first time, it said that it's playable with a keyboard and mouse, although a controller is recommended.

So you can use a keyboard, but a controller is just better for those kind of games

It works fine for me on my wireless Xbox one controller. You may need to wait until you get into the main menu.

I honestly Prefer the Key-bored and Mouse over the controller. I just assigned Dodge to "v" and my thumb comfortably sits on jump as well. I can react quicker than swinging my fingers around a controller when it keys are a literal twitch away.

I have been PC gaming since i was 6 when Doom came out and never looked back. The K&M have become muscle memory now so that is something to consider as well. If you game on a controller more than K&M then the controller is you best bet.
