Can you play pc version if you own the xbox console version?

If you were gifted the console version is there is any way to play the pc version? I vaguely remember reading about being able to play xbox games on pc if you bought the console version. Do I have to buy a pc version? My brother bought me an xbox with Jedi: Fallen Order. Is the pc version a better experience than the console version or about the same?

It has to be a digital copy compatible with Xbox Play.

Jedi Fallen Order is not one of those games.

The only way to get the PC version is through either Origin or Steam, but both require an Origin account.

That is a comprehensive list of all cross-buy games current and planned. Many people thought Borderlands 3 was going to show up after timed exclusivity wore off, do not assume anything like that.

I'd say the bulk of games in that list are there just to fill out the list of Windows 10 Game Pass titles for Microsoft's subscription service. It looks like an impressive list at first, but they're almost entirely the same set of games you get on Xbox.
